Players will meet a new fighting comrade, Terajima Ryoko, and face the powerful alien monsters. The Bracelet gains a new skill -- 2128 Drain -- and continues its development. The Grunties learn new search skills, and two new Grunties can be trained.

.hack//OUTBREAK follows the story of a young player named Kite as he steps even closer to finding the origins of the Data Bug and the revival of his friend Orca.
The destruction of "The World", the fictitious online community continues as Kite and new friend Terajima Ryoko attempt to stop the detrimental OUTBREAK. Utilize new equipment and higher skill levels to defeat the Aliens, the most challenging foes yet encountered in the .hackuniverse.
As an added bonus, OUTBREAK ships with a special 45-minute Anime DVD that ties in directly with the story (.hack//Liminality Vol. 3: In the case of Kyoko Tohno).
