After a dozen years of PlayStation and console exclusivity, Konami's long-running RPG series makes its non-Sony and handheld debut in Suikoden: Tierkreis. Gamers enter the Suikoden universe and once again play central roles in the saga of the 108 Stars of Destiny, this time controlling the last few members of the great collective as they attempt to resurrect 104 of their fallen brethren and defeat the evil One King. Voice-over dialogue and animated cut-scenes drive the story as players lead their party of four through a variety of parallel worlds for classic 2D overworld adventures and dungeon crawling. Characters level up with increased experience, but Suikoden: Tierkreis also makes use of Nintendo's Wi-Fi Connection to foster an active online community in which players can send their adventurers off to gain new abilities and treasure on quests undertaken by other gamers.
The Million World universe lies under threat from the mighty One King, who harbors a plot to sow chaos throughout its vast expanse. The only ones who stand a chance of opposing the One King's plan and thwarting his evil machinations are the 108 Stars of Destiny, a group of magical warriors. When the members of the 108 Stars of Destiny come together, it will unleash a stunning battle of good vs. evil that will span the Million World universe's near-infinite parallel worlds.

As your character travels around the community and completes quests he will eventually return to your party with new abilities and treasures. This provides a new way to level up characters your characters which helps create a sense of community and provides a new way to experience RPGs on handhelds.
