Abstract

What do Reggie Jackson, Mike Schmidt, and Yogi Berra have in common? They're just a few of the players who made it out for the 2003 installment of ALL-STAR BASEBALL. Choose from 30 Major League teams (or create your own in Expansion mode), and then set out to win the World Series. There are 10 modes of play, and there's comprehensive play-by-play from the likes of Bob Brenly, Thom Brennaman, and Steve Lyons. Incredible physics and realistic graphics mark this triumphant trip around the diamond.

Full description

The national pastime returns to the virtual ballparks of Acclaim's All-Star Baseball 2003. As in previous years' editions in the series, all 30 Major League Baseball teams and over 900 real-life pro players are featured. Motion-captured animations bring the players to life and developers used "Cyberscan" technology to create detailed, recognizable faces. A total of ten modes of play include standard "Exhibition," "Season," and "Career," as well as specialties like "Batting Practice" and a "Home Run Derby." The new "Expansion" mode allows dedicated gamers to create custom teams, choosing a city, stadium, and logo and then adding the squad to the Major League schedule. The Cooperstown Hall of Fame team lets fans play with all-time greats like Mike Schmidt, Reggie Jackson, and Yogi Berra. Games are called by Bob Brenly, Thom Brennaman, and Steve Lyons.

All-Star Baseball 2003 combines true-to-life graphics with superior gameplay to create the most exciting baseball experience for any fan. Featuring Derek Jeter, four-time World Series Champion, All-Star Baseball 2003 is the only baseball game available this year on all next generation hardware systems.

All-Star Baseball 2003 features all-new player models created with 3-D CyberScan technology for one of the most realistic representations of player faces ever seen. Game modes include exhibition, season, career, franchise, expansion, All-Star Game, series, manager, home-run derby, and batting practice. Franchise mode allows users to build their favorite teams for up to 20 consecutive seasons. All-new expansion play lets you choose a city, stadium, and team logo and then add that team to the major leagues. And the expansion draft lets you draft from a pool of unprotected players and build a team from free agents and minor leaguers.

The three-man broadcast booth of Bob Brenly, Thom Brennaman, and Steve Lyons provides in-depth commentary. The Cooperstown Hall of Fame team features such sluggers from the past as Mike Schmidt, Reggie Jackson, and Yogi Berra. All 30 major-league teams and more than 900 players are represented, all with official stadiums, logos, and uniforms. There are more than 50 stadiums from which to choose, including eight classic stadiums and 10 expansion stadiums.
