I'm the type of gamer who doesn't really go for the high score, I just want the experience. I don't care if I come in first, but I hate coming in last. I like to explore, look around, see the sights; for example, scavenging around Rapture in BioShock was some of the finest gaming moments I've had in recent memory. I am not a graphics-whore, but I do appreciate high-def. What I want most from a game is style. A believable, detailed world I can get lost in. For example, some people think Pac-Man looks old and outdated; I think it has great style. He's just as prominent now as he was 30 years ago. Good style never goes away. Mario still looks like Mario. Whether in 3D or 2D, you instantly recognize Sonic. That's style. Style is timeless.

I am a video game journalist. I don't really review games because I tend to look at them differently and I might enjoy a game for vastly different reasons than the populace might, but I do have a lot to say about what's going on in the industry.
