The Goozex feedback system keeps track of how things are going, and contributes to building your trading reputation. The higher the trading reputation, the more possibilities for trading are open for you (How does this work?).
In addition, Goozex has several mechanisms in place to protect both Buyers and Sellers while making sure trading activity is not hampered:
- The Goozex guarantee protects the Buyer from lost shipments, broken disks or other mishaps during the trading process: we refund the trade token and the points spent, and these can be freely used for another trade. (Refund claims are subject to inspection by the Goozex Customer Service. A Delivery Confirmation number may be requested to prove shipping a package.)
- The Seller is protected in two ways. First, they can see the Buyer's transaction history before accepting the trade, so they can avoid "bad" users beforehand. Second, the Goozex system automatically closes a trade and reports positive feedback for the Seller if the Buyer does not provide feedback within 21 days.
- Each user has a number of "trading slots" available that they can use at once. When they first sign up, users only have one trading slot available. As users complete positive trades, the available trading slots increase (for example, a user will have two trading slots after completing one positive trade, increasing up to an unlimited number of slots when the user builds a strong "reputation"). How does this work?.
- Sellers with negative feedback score may be prevented to request additional games until after they complete positive trades.
- Goozex continuously monitors trading activity on the site to ensure that our 100% guarantee policy is met and that neither side of the trade is abusing our trading system.
Points are the internal currency of Goozex. They are used to assign a trading value to any video game or movie on the network. You earn points by sending your games & movies to other members, and then use those points to receive other items from other members.
By using points, you get two main benefits:
- No one-on-one trade: there is no need for you to find a trading partner, or another members that wants one of your items and is willing to give you one of theirs. On Goozex, you send your item to one member, and use the points to request another item from another member!
- Full value for your games & movies: since points are assigned by Goozex, there is no need to negotiate a "price" for your items or for the items you are requesting. You always get full market value for your items. It means effortless trading!
Point values are calculated by a patented algorithm that takes in consideration multiple factors to match the current market value for each item. In addition to item specific factors (e.g. MSRP, age, genre, platform, format, etc.), Goozex dynamically adapts prices depending on supply and demand for each item. This makes sure that if you offer a game or movie that is highly requested, you earn a higher value for it. Point values range from 100 to 1000, with the most popular and newest titles near the 1000 point range.
A trade Token is the $1 fee that you pay to Goozex to process a trade through the Goozex network. For every item that you receive from another user, you are debited 1 trade token. Trade tokens are valued at $1 a piece, so essentially, you are getting a game or movie for a buck!
Trading on Goozex is simple: all you have to do is list the items you have (add them to your Library) and list the items you want (add them to your Requests list).
