Alright so here is the deal, a while back ago, I want to say about a month now I got matched up for Suikoden(Amazing game by the way) for the PS1 which is a 1000 point game, I was very excited to get matched up with the seller because he has a excellent reputation.

Well a couple of weeks pass and I get my package, which is always a exciting event. To my surprise when I open the package it isn't Suikoden but rather Medal of Honor for the PS1, of course I was pretty upset about this whole thing and left the seller negative for wrong game recieved.

Seller contacts me and politely asked me to make sure it was a package from him, which it was because it was the only thing I had coming in and because it was simply from him, Well we continue to go back and forth about this and he had this to say

"I have timestamped inventory changelogs that show that I pulled a copy of Suikoden for you out of my store's inventory within 4 minutes of shipping your item. Furthermore, the Paypal record shows that I shipped you an 8-ounce package. As you well know, Suikoden comes in a double-disc case with a thick manual and weighs more than a standard PS1 game. (Medal of Honor would weigh about 5 ounces.) My feedback shows I have sent out many, many rare and high-value games on Goozex without a problem. So let's close this and put this joke to rest, OK?"

I respond with this

"??? I know I am fairly new to this, but I refuse to accept a 100 point game when a 1000 point game was ordered. I know what came in the mail.I understand that you did all that stuff on ebay, but this is goozex. All the things that you pointed out can be made up. Paypal will let you pay for any size package as long as it is not under. I also sell on ebay and try my best to keep things organized.

I am not trying to pull something here, I just either want what I ordered or my points back. Please don't insult me by assuming that I am making this up. Thank you for your time, and I am sorry about this situation."

And this is his final response before he escalated the dispute to goozex because time was running out.

"My inventory changelogs are kept on a separate server, viewable online, and cannot be edited by me. Same with the Paypal shipping record. What CAN be made up is claiming you got a 100 point game instead of a 1000 point one."

Now I know for a fact what I received, and I know I am being screwed here, but will the sellers reputation which really is excellent with hundreds of trades doom my chances of actually winning this dispute? Any advice ore help from you guys would be appreciated.

Perhaps he filed things incorrectly, I mean human error does occur on the odd occasion.  Fancy changelogs or not, he could have very easily shipped you the incorrect game.

My advice is to escalate to Goozex at this point.

He already escalated the claim himself, do I need to do anything else on my part?

First off, what the crap is he talking about inventory changelogs?  Does he run some kind of computer inventory system on his games?  And does he really think that paypal shipping has some kind of item recognition that knows he is mailing suikoden and only prints off a label if suikoden is in the package?  This guy is a dense as *** scammer.  Can we get a mod to flag this?

This is a tough one my friend...Was he supposed to send metal of honor to someone? If so did they get suikoden

I once printed 2 labels out and mixed them out.  I sent out the wrong games to the wrong people.  Although I did admit my mistake and took care of it.  I bet if he checks his precious records, he probably sent  your game to someone who ordered Medal of Honor.  Either way, it's really his mistake not yours, at least in my book.  Let him escalate, but I'm sure you'll be fine.

hmmm

Well you got a 100 point game when you were supposed to get 1000 point game his fault he mixed up the label. I would think Goozex would side with you or give you back your points at the least....

This dispute sounds worse than it should be. Both of you are accusing each other of lying (not a smart thing to do--ever), when what most likely happened was a mix up.  His inventory changelog stuff is stupid of course, but your response that he could fake it was not wise.  Mistakes happen and the more careful you are, the more surprised you are when someone says you made one.  But I am interested to know whether he is short one MOH on PS1, and whether he will admit that.

What is the measurement of the mailer the seller sent it in?

I have no idea. This is an odd question.

Suikedon comes with a two-disc case but only has one disc (similar to WIld Arms).

The case wouldn't be able to fit inside a 6.5 x 9.5 (DVD) mailer without tearing it.  A DVD case or regular jewel case would fit without problems.

If  the mailer is the size I mentioned or smaller, use a ruler measure it and take photo for each measurement, then use it for your argument.

I don't know if it will help.

Maybe ask him for a moment to ignore what his MCP changelog is telling him and to check his shelves to see if he possibly has a copy of Suikoden stored in the spot where he stores Medal of Honor. Also remind him no system is perfect when a human being is involved.

I have spent most of my money on women and beer. The rest I just wasted....

The seller called the buyer a liar first and EVERYTHING he stated sounds like he is the one trying to run a scam. Not a damn thing he said has any bearing what-so-ever on anything. All of that CAN E-A-S-I-L-Y be made up. Period. The only thing that matters is that you didn't get what you ordered. Yeah, he has a time-stamped inventory MADE BY HIM. How stupid to try to use that as verification. The seller is either running a scam, or is simply an ***. Goozex will probably ask you to send in the game you received. Do so, and you should be fine. The seller may honestly think he is in the right, but his attitude certainly says otherwise. The only thing the seller can actually prove is that he sent you a package, which you are not denying. Also, I totally disagree with any advice to deal with the seller any further. His attitude makes his stance obvious. You would be wasting your time and just get more upset/angry. Ignore him, unless he decides to tell the truth, which he won't, and wait for goozex to sort it out. That's my opinion, at least.
