Timeouts from 0/0 accounts

I've been having a great experience on Goozex so far. Gotten some great games, and have been treated really well by the other members. However, something is going on now that I don't understand.

I've requested a full package of Modern Warfare 2, and I've been matched with three consecutive new users who just let the trade time out. I'm on the fourth now. They're all accounts created 1 or 2 days ago. It's a waste of my time, and I'm a really impatient SOB so it's annoying.

I tried to read up on what's happening and I found some reference to people gaming the system to improve their place in line but I don't understand why that would help. Should I give up on this game?

And all this time I thought it was only Pathenogicity who was constantly being scammed by new users who existed soley to screw him over; I guess he'll be happy to discover he's not alone.

OK, be more patient. Not likely. I can wait, though, that's different.

So are these real new users who don't understand the system, or not? If not, what are they?

Why would you give up on getting the game? Patience is the name of the game with goozex; perhaps its time to learn how to have some. You'll match sooner or later for it.

I don't know if 0/0 users time out I'm not too sure those guys should be trading

They could be.  If they aren't some douchebag is trying to jump the queue so he can glitch some noobs sooner.  Watching your requests like a hawk will drive you insane.

Yes consecutive timeouts are frustrating, especially for a game that you want immediately.  It's even worse when the game you want has a large supply, but no one seems to want to mail the game out.

The worst however is when you get matched with a 0/0 user and they DO accept to send the game... and then 2 weeks later no game arrives (basically holding your account hostage for the game during that time period). Goozex has implemented ways to deal with these situations, however there will always be a few bad apples trying to work the system.

Hi Max, this problem really only happens with the more popular / recent titles and although you seem to be stuck in some 0/0 nightmare right now it doesn't happen too often thankfully. So how does this particular exploit work you ask? It's simple. Lets say you are desperate to get the game but there are a few active people ahead of you in line. By creating a dummy account (fake name/email) and then offering the game for trade you will be matched up with a person ahead of you in the queue. So if a legit trader offers a copy up you have essentially removed people from the queue for 24 hours. Do it a few times and those several people ahead of you are now all matched with 0/0 accounts. That seems to be what happens.

It's a little pathetic that someone wants a game so badly they will screw over those ahead in line but some people have their priorities screwed up. It can be avoided to a large extent by not going for the recent releases. I will put a game on hold in my queue and wait for the rush to end and the price to drop.By that point the asshats on the site have lost interest in the title and moved on to the latest thing. I suspect there will be a lot of bogus metroid trades for a week or two.

I PM'd the newest 0/0 match to see if he understood what was going on or had questions and he responded by accepting the match and messaging me back. Hopefully no further issues, and I just want to say again that the community on here is great.

Been there, it sucks. I feel your pain. I'm actually in the middle of one now. Especially with the game you're going for you will get it eventually, rest assured that thankfully it doesn't happen very often. Out of the 38 incoming trades I've completed so far it has happened only 3 or 4 times. I guess it is the price we pay for getting such a good deal on used games. Hang in there.

I've got 2 days left for my MW2 copy to arrive. It was confirmed shipped almost 2 weeks ago(not international). I just got my first match-up for Red Dead with a 2 day member that is about to time-out as well. I have plenty of other stuff coming in that keeps my mind off these things.

Thankfully that has not happened to me...yet. I've been hording points for the landslide of huge releases coming out in the next few months and I know I'm going to be experianceing the same thing shortly. Why do people need to cheat the system. If you need the game right now then go buy the game from amazon, ebay, or God forbid you walk to a store. If you absolutly have to get a game on goozex then wait your turn like the rest of us.

Sadly this happens, it can get annoying. I had to leave 5 or 6 negatives on MW2 Prestige edition, not too mention how many new users timed out on a match, before I actually ended up receiving it. It takes patience, but it is very satisfying in the end.
