So I received the game Final Fantasy II for the SNES a little under two weeks ago.  I opened up the package and got this:

Not too happy about it, so I message the seller about it.  I wanted a cancellation, so I offered to return the game to him on my dime.  So I sent him two messages about it and gave him almost two weeks to respond.  Lo and behold, he doesn't ever bother replying even though he left positive feedback with comments on trades he had during that time.  So he definitely receive the messages I sent him.

Now I only assume that he knows the game is in crap condition and knew I couldn't do anything about it.  So, why bother even responding, right??  Seriously, what a jerk ass move.

So time was almost up for the trade and I had to leave a +5 with a comment.  Really this is bullocks.  Now I'm stuck with this game and my only recourse is to put it up on Goozex to regain my lost 500 points, but I'm sure the next person to get this game would probably hate me if I do that.

/end rant

PS, yeah I know disc only means that I shouldn't be complaining about condition as long as it works, but at least man up and respond.  Geesh.

Also, I wanted to ask, should I just put the game up on Goozex? There is an instant trade for it.  The game works fine too (unfortunately).

EDIT:

As suggested, I will try to clean it with tools around my house.

Attempt 1:

Using Q-tip, rubbing alcohol, paper towels, mp3 player, 30 minutes:

That's a garbage cartridge.  It's certainly worthy of a neutral, at least, for being in less than fair condition.

You can remove the marker pretty easily.  Other than that, since the other user won't respond, I'd look into either printing up, or ordering, a replacement label for it.

There isn't an option for really bad condition neutral.

+5 was about all you could do as long as it played and saved.

However, if you could get a replacement label, just switch it with one of the many 1 cent value snes sports games and voila, almost like new.

From the Retro section in the FAQ.

Neutral feedback is expected when the following is met: the retro game is not in the expected/advertised condition and fully working (dead battery or less than fair condition). Seller's feedback score is decreased (-10).

yeah but I only requested disc only, the only neutral option available to me was "insufficient package".  Goozex didn't allow me any other choice Angry

That's double suck.  What neutral is someone supposed to leave for the battery not working?  I've yet to have to leave anything but a positive or negative for a retro game, so I was unaware that the option that goozex clearly tells you to use is unavailable.

It'd be nice if Goozex had a community rule. While rule wise that game may be a positive, there is no way that game should be considered acceptable condition and there's also no way that the seller thought that was even a fair condition game or could think any reasonable person would want it . He put it up knowing full well he was screwing someone over and they couldn't do a thing about it.

This is the exact reason I have yet to get anything high point value off the retro section.  Too many people get rid of dead battery/garbage titles they couldn't sell on ebay here.

Which is why I only go Ebay.  For the point values I'd be paying for these games I could get near mint condition complete copies of the games and actually have the luxury of seeing what the game looks like and who I'm getting matched up with before I buy them.

I love SNES. It's my favorite console and I still play it. One of my goals is to eventually own a complete copy of every SNES game worth owning.

I'm sorry you are out 500 points, but remember--Goozex is designed for people who want used games that play perfectly--NOT A+ condition titles. Now admittedly, this is like a D- quality :( but if it plays perfectly and you requested disc only, that's a +5 trade as far as I'm concerned. You could leave neutral but it probably won't stick, and it will take weeks before you can close the trade and get back into line (either to request another or to trade that one back out). Right now it takes about 2 weeks for a human being to look at any neutrals/negatives, at least in my experience. I hope your future trades work out better :(

Despite what the FAQ says, there's no neutral option for "less than fair condition."

I'm kind of appalled you'd defend this.  If the shoe were on the other foot, I'm sure you'd be furious.  Patrick Taylor...watch out!!

Granted, this isn't a site for collector's to expect to get sealed, minty fresh titles, but conversely, it's not a site for crappy traders to send out their unwanted trash with no recourse....or is it?

Five long years, he wore this cart of Final Fantasy II up his ass. Then he died of dysentery
