My favorite RPG would have to be Shadowrun for the SNES. I've played through and beaten that game three times.

I can't say for sure it's my favorite but oblivion defiantly comes to mind. I'm finishing up that game right now and i've logged 211+ hours.

Yeah, I put a lot of hours into it myself. It was very close to being my number 1. I've completed the main quest, the guild quests, and the Shivering Isles main quest but haven't beaten all the side quests yet.

Ultima Online, even if it is of the MMO derivative.

If not an online one, the original Dragon Quest and Chrono Trigger are high points in my early gaming career.

Here's my top 5 (though number 5 was hard to decide, so many could take that spot)

1. Dragon Force (Saturn) (No Contest Here)

2. Shining Force III (Saturn)

3. Final Fantasy Tactics (PSP or Playstation)

4. Shining Force II (Genesis) (Close one with the 3rd place)

5. Bleach: The 3rd Phantom (Nintendo DS)

I actually forgot about Dragon Quest (It's actually called Dragon Warrior in North America). That would definitely have to be my number 4. I've beaten it a couple times. Did you play it on the NES?

I've never actually played the Sega Saturn. It looks like there are some really cool games for it though. It may be the next system I buy.

top 5 mmm Dragon Quest all of them, pokemon, zelda all of them, final fantasy all of them. I am doing Dragon Quest IX now on the DS and love it. Its like the DQVIII for the PS2. My all time favorite is the Dragon Quest [Dragon Warrion on the GB then changed to Dragon Quest for the PS. Although am not crazy for the ones they came out with for the Wii]

I've never actually played the Sega Saturn. It looks like there are some really cool games for it though. It may be the next system I buy.

 

Even if for nothing else I would own a Saturn for Dragon Force it's that good. There are some other great games for it too Albert Odyssey, Magic Knight Rayearth, Panzer Dragoon Saga (though I don't think it's $250 good), Guardian Heroes, Burning Rangers.

I wouldn't consider Zelda an RPG or else I would have put Link to the Past in my top 3. It's more of an adventure game.

Zelda games are actually considered to be under the Action RPG category.

Zelda games are actually considered to be under the Action RPG category.

Some people may call it that but when you think about it, it really isn't. Take a look at this article here:
