Here's a couple of vids from the producers with the new features of NHL 11, every year the franchise just keeps getting better and better so I'm sure this year will not dissappoint :D

Real time physics, broken sticks, CHL teams, disallowed goals...just the tip of the iceberg

I've played with a few of you on here so far so remember when NHL 11 ships Sept 7th we'll be starting up an Online Team Play club. **If you pre-order you'll also receive a boost pack with in game gear, def worth it for online.

WOW...seriously???

I'm scared this will be typical EA.  Over implement a new feature and kill gameplay with "improvements".

There is no way that stick was above the cross-bar, unless the camera angle is off.  Reminds me of the years where EA thought it wise to put in the crease rule.  Me and some buddies had a season going on my PC in college.  There were numerous instances where a goal was waived off because a player was in the crease when nobody was in the crease but the goalie...

How about adding face support ala the Tiger Woods franchise?  Obviously that's not as important as booster packs.

I can't remember the year, somewhere between 2000 and 2004.  The game would pause for review and it would show an overhead cam...with nobody in the crease.  No goal...it was rage blackout inducing for some of my friends.

LOL yup.  I don't have audio so I have no idea if the first video said it was a goal.

I'm really excited about the new features but I'm also worried about broken sticks either happening way too often or at "conveniently" the worst possible moment.  10 seconds on the clock, 3rd period, down by 1, puck goes back to the point, d-man takes the shot.......broken stick, puck goes nowhere, CPU wins.  I can already hear the forum raging Geeked

It's like announcers raging during real hockey games!  The one piece sticks do break far too often in real NHL games, but I think EA will have it on steroids.

First vid just had the ref waving it off with the producer saying "stay tuned to find out the call"

Those are the *breaks* (excuse the pun lol) I'm anticipating it happening far too much or too little to begin with and then EA issuing a "tuner" patch within a month or two to tweak it's occurence along with whatever else needs to be updated.

EA needs to rip off 2k and put sliders in for EVERYTHING.  The 2k gameplay customization is/was awesome...however the actual gameplay was not.

I just traded my NHL10 copy and now I feel lonely.  Just have to wait until Sept. 7th!

LOL, I just did the same thing thinking "it's not that long to wait".......now it feels like forever.

I traded my copy of NHL '10 a while ago.  Definitely looking forward to '11.

And I feel lonely too.  My wife totally hates the 'noise' from NHL 3 on 3, so I'm without a hockey game at the moment!

I'll try the demo of NHL 11 when it comes out. I'm not optimistic though. EA as already imo butchered the gameplay quite a bit (at least we can stick to classic controls). Anyways, might skip that one at worst and wait to see the revamped engine of the 2k franchise in 2012.    If i'm really itching for some hockey then I'll order NHL10 or get 09 again.

NHL 11 is looking like a release day purchase for me.  I really like the looks of the updates.
