Thoughts on Darksiders?

So I just started this game the other night, I'm about 2 hours in.  At first I was a little underwhelmed, but the game very quickly started to grow on me.  God of War-ish combat with Zelda style adventure?  Yes please!  I already enjoy it more than Dante's, that's for sure!

I actually bought this through Gamestop online recently for like 30 bucks after some coupon codes I had to use.  I'll surely review it and give my thoughts here and on my blog when I'm done.  :)

I haven't finished it yet but I've got about 3-4 hours of gaming done and it's a decent title but easily forgotten.  The story isn't bad so far but I kinda don't care about what is happening.  To be honest I doubt I'll even touch Darksiders again until I'm finished with GoW3.

I thought it was way to long...I quit when they told me that after a giant end game like boss i had to go do a fetch quest across every level in the game

i am notorious for despising fetch quests BUT, the entire thing can be accomplished in under 15 minutes because of rapid travel and the proximity of the shards

I have to agree with kwazz, I don't think it's worth 1000 points. It's a fun title, but definitely worth waiting for a drop, especially with backlogs being notorious around here, and with GoW3 out now. Once it hits $20, I'll pick it up.

I had a great time with it, did the fetch quest in 15 to 20 minutes using porting, and thought the ending was great.  Also I got the red faction guerrilla free code with it too :D

I must have been doing something wrong. The portals took a minute or two to run/walk through right? And some levels apparently i hadn't even discovered yet

Not to thread jack or anything but has anyone received their Red Faction yet?  Seems like it's been quite some time and mine hasn't arrived.

I played it with my Gamefly trial (free game rental plus Goozex points and tokens - sweet!)  It took me the full 2 weeks of my trial, and while it wasn't amazing, I definitely had fun with it.  God of War gameplay with Zelda elements mixed in is a really good way of describing it.  I also enjoyed it a lot more than Dante's Inferno.  The problem for me was the generic character (War?  Really?) and the plot.  It's completely forgettable, and if it wasn't for my trial running out, I probably would've stopped playing due to boredom half way through.

The fetch quest at the end was a little annoying, but it only took about 20 minutes to complete.  When this game eventually drops in price, it will definitely be worth the $20-$30 it'll be going for.
