I have messaged traders or received messages several times but will not notice unless I click on the link up at top. It'd be great if it had a little number next to it, or a pop up saying you got a message. I know email notifications exist, but it'd be super convenient as I have had trouble contacting traders before. Thanks,

you receive an email and on your "My Goozex" page there will be a big red highlighted section that says "You have a new message"; that's pretty good notification if you ask me
In my post, I mentioned that I'm aware of email notifications, but most people (the people that I have done trades with) don't ever see those. If they see the messages when they go to check on their goozex account here, they'll see it. It'd be very beneficial. Where can I file an official request?

Isn't that pretty much what you're asking for?

oh I never saw that- it only shows my points on that screen. I was just requesting that it show messages at the top, by showing a number there. It seems that the system could be a bit better so that those trading would see a message before they send something out. I've had this happen several times now because somehow, new message notification isn't as visible.

if you view the message and navigate to the goozex page from your email; that notification disappears; otherwise, there is no message
I know this. I should clarify, sorry. This thread is mostly in due for those users, who don't have email notification or don't see their email, maybe spam idk, but still trade. I have had a few traders who I needed to message them about something before they mailed out my package. In these cases, it was 3 days to ship, so they had a few days to see they had a message. They didn't realize for whatever reason, that they had a message that applied to the package that was being sent. In specific, I needed my game sent to my address here at college, not at my home's address. I don't want to change my permanent address, but just wanted to let them know of a specific address. No harm is considering this as an option right?

there actually is harm in doing that as some users, myself included, would not send the game and instead report you to the G-Team
stop being lazy and change your address

Shipping to any address other than the one on file can remove the seller's protection under the Goozex Guarantee, so you may want to reconsider which address you list for the good of the sellers shipping to you.
really hmm okay- but this shouldn't disqualify my request. It's not as much as a notification as a number up at top. please, no flaming.
ps- I wasn't being lazy, I just didn't want to change my address since I'm finishing school here in 2 months. I'm new, give me a break.

sounds lazy to me

Not busting chops for the sake of it; telling you so you are protected/educated as a buyer and as a goozex user in general

2 months is a long time..
it takes... what... a minute to change your address?
a minute and a half tops.
Yeah, too many scams happened here the past with people messaging people with alternate addresses. Makes people wary.
As far as notifications, the main My Goozex page does show it, as shown in the pic above. Plus if emails are getting sent to spam, it's really up to the user to tell his email filters not to send it to spam. There's not really much more goozex can do besides have a huge pop up when you log in that says in big red letters "YOU HAVE 2 MESSAGES ANSWER NOW MAN!!!!"
Alright, to end this thread. The problem is that my classmate at college here in Indy already uses this address. So it's not a matter of laziness- I can't really change it even if I wanted to. I understand now the implications of fraudulent users, and there could be a better way for users to have alternate addresses where there are classmates or siblings with separate accounts at the same address. However, better notification up top might help communication between traders and sellers. Just my opinion.
I've requested shipping to alternate addresses on many occasions. I often request the same game 2 or 3 times to distribute them to my friends for multi-player on older games. It's always worked out fine. I think only one user ignored my request and sent it to my address on file (*he who shall not be named is a heavy trader and frequents the forum*).
If someone is hesitant to send it to an alt. address, one look at my history usually brings them around. If not, that's OK too... and I certainly wouldn't blame them for being cautious with a new user.
