Anyone have this? Looks pretty slick and will be my first smartphone - dropping my cell/pc aircard combo for it...it looks like I can tether it to use as a modem through PDANet.
Wanted to wait for a better provider, but had to get it this month for work reasons - hope T-Mobile works out (I'm in the NoVa area).
I still use my Razr. About time for an upgrade for me. I was looking at the Propel.
I love my Moto Droid ... but I really *need* a physical keyboard ... twenty years of PDAs and always came back to keyboard ones. Android OS is very nice and the app market is growing fast.

I'm hoping the voice rec app will negate the use of some finger screen typing; I couldn't type at all on an iphone.

I've heard really good things, and also how the new 'gesture search' thing is excellent as well. Me ... happy just typing
My buddies friend has one and was all showing it off and thought he was super cool. The phone is cool I showed him my Nokia N95 (which is still a very high end phone) and he laughed like a D-BAG.

I would have considered paying the insane 'middle of contract' price for one IF it had a decent keyboard. The thing is terrible and I hope they improve rather than remove it on the next iteration.
A friend of mine was 'lucky' enough to have his phone die and contract end right when the Droid released and purchased one. While the phone is overall awesome, the terrible texts at the fault of the keyboard brought many laughs. The keyboard on my Voyager I think will be extremely hard to beat.
On topic, I haven't seen one of those yet, but wasn't there a ton of bad press on the phone upon release? Problems with the phone, non existent or runaround support, and a terrible return policy?

I have a Droid Eris, made by HTC, which is the same company that is assisting Google on the Nexus One. I love it. The HTC version of Android is a lot more user friendly and sleek in my opinion.
When I first got the Droid I returned it and tried the HTC Touch Pro 2, which has a wonderful keyboard but the abysmal WiMo OS ... I like it as a PDA OS but as a phone OS it really is crap.

There were usual amounts of issues, some finger pointing between Google, T-Mobile and HTC, and it shares the heinous $350 ETF becoming popular for smartphones ... but most of that stuff has been resolved, and it is really 'Google's baby' so it gets all new updates first and fast.

More than 'assist' - they MAKE the Nexus One.
I got a droid eris a month ago, and it has totally spoiled me. First smartphone, and I can't imagine not having one. My wife's phone upgrade is available now, so I'm considering getting a regular Moto Droid on it, and trading her my eris for the droid though, just for the keyboard.
Nexus One must be a nice phone, considering that Apple has sued HTC for patent infringement regarding that phone.

So there are differences in the OS depending on the phone? I didn't realize this.
how do you get along with the physical keyboard? I can't figure out if I would actually use it.. it seems kind of flat and cramped. I have been weighing getting a Droid but rumor has it that Verizon will have Nexus One at the end of the month.
You can get a droid through amazon/verizon's site as a new contract or an upgrade for 49.99. I'm gonna do that Wednesday if they still have it up.

Wirefly has it for $50 too and you can get $50 cashback through Bing, so it is basically free.
Be aware that there is an additional ETF owed if you buy from a third party if you disconnect the line within the first few months.
