Apple finally announced the worst kept secret in tech today, their slate computer called the iPad. Besides the unfortunate name, what do you guys think? What kind of games do you think we'll see on this thing?

its such a shame. I love apple products but they really dropped the ball on this one. You can't multitask, so no pandora while surfing the internet. THey also didn't put a camera in the thing so that people could vid conference with each other. I also hear there is no SMS....so its like an enlarged, dumbed down, ipod touch. No thank you.
I saw this on another forum. Looks pretty cool (expensive), but it's missing a pico-projector with interactable touch screen!

Yeah this thing has PSPgo phail written all over it. Most iLovers line up for iPhones or iLaptops. But this "tablet" is in no man's land. Who is going to want this thing? Every iFanboi already has the iPhone and an iLaptop.
Not being able to surf and listen to pandora = same functionality as my blackberry why would anyone buy this thing other than being Mock Turtleneck soldiers
Like all Apple products, it'll probably sell extremely well and make millions...

well in its defense it has an ereader program that has a one up on kindle (color). If it had the camera, and the multitasking capabilities i would be all over this like a fly to ****. I'll wait to see if apple realizes their mistake 6 mos. down the raod and upgrades it with the necessary features. PS, it isn't an ilaptop. Its a Macbook
Have they actually said there's no multi-tasking? With the processor in that thing, I can't see why it's not possible. As far as people buying it, sure the fanboys will be all over it. If it was priced where I thought it was, around $999, I think the adoption rate would be pretty low. However, pricing it at $499 should move a lot more units. That price for a device like this is pretty attractive.

I too was envisioning some sort of electronic hygiene product...likely a wireless version. Possibly with an included MP3 player. Priced low enough to be disposable of course. It's got that 'i' in front of it, so it must be good.

I'm not overly impressed - it is essentially a Touch on steroids. No camera, no multitasking, and so on.
As for ebooks, for many the lack of an EInk display will cause undue eye strain ...
