What's the best PS2 game you've ever played? I going to get a PS3 soon, and I want to play my PS2 to its' fullest potential. What games do you guys recommend are really worth playing on a PS2?

Persona 3 FES/Persona 4, Dragon Quest 8:Journey of the Cursed King, The Ratchet & Clank games (forget about size matters). Those are just some of my favs.

Final Fantasy X is my favourite game of all time.  After that some other great PS2 games are all the ratchet and clank ones.

Let's not forget about the Jak series. The story in those are simply amazing, and after the first pretty dark.

i really liked both Disgaea games and thought the first Manhunt was a great game - the second was awful. I think my favorite PS2 game though is Timesplitters Future Perfect

MGS3.  I quite enjoyed that one, and the removal of squarish levels and corners made stealth a whole new ballgame.

I have to admit to lurking here ... younger son wants a PS2 to play the older Kingdom Hearts stuff so I want to make sure I have a great Gooz-list for when that happens

The absolute best would probably have to be RoTK X of Timesplitters for me. Both just felt right like very few other games.

All of the ones already listed here I agree with.  I would add that Kingdom Hearts (both 1 and 2) are pretty amazing.  Chances are, you've already played them though.

Everyone that said the Kingdom Hearts games I couldn't agree more, they were simply amazing. Also to whoever said Ico and Shadow of the Colossus those are must play games. They are simply hauntingly beautiful and excellent gameplay.
