So I was matched for Modern Warfare 2 but the user canceled.  I usually am o.k with a user canceling if there is a logical reason for it.  But he replied with....   Because I felt like it.

To me this is just rude.  He hasn't given any reason for it.  Just because he doesn't feel like it.  What is that?

Would you guys go ahead and agree for the trade to be canceled, or should I go ahead with the trade?  I just fear he'll be a jerk and not make this a trade worth dealing with.

I'd make him trade it, but I'm an ass like that.

Before doing anything, I'd probably ask him if he can provide a reason for canceling that isn't stupid (politely of course).  From there, two courses of action are possible.

1: Cancel and move on.
Since he requested the cancel, he'll be bumped to the bottom of the queue and you'll keep your original place in the line.  You are likely to be matched with a trader who doesn't suck.

2: Give an ultimatum to the trader to send the game, or expect a negative for "game not received".

It's possible the guy will send the game, but it's fairly likely he won't.  Basically, this is something you may want to do if you want to set a good example for trading and are willing to have one of your trade slots tied up for at least a week to do so.

In the end it's totally your choice.  If the seller has a decent reason for canceling I wouldn't hesitate to choose option 1.  I'd go option 2 if I felt it was necessary to show the seller that not everyone is going to be willing to put up with their irresponsibility.  You might also check their trade and cancel history to see if they're engaging in any suspicious activity like receiving multiple negatives for the same game, or canceling a ridiculous amount of times.  If they are, you should report it.

It's a crappy reason he gave, but it's probably accurate.  If you demand a more detailed explanation, you're probably just going to find out that he changed his mind.

Don't accept the cancel, and tell him that you didn't feel like accepting it.  Case closed.

He shouldn't have accepted the trade if he didn't feel like trading.  Plain and simple, or at least give a reason like he can't find the game, or he changed his mind or whatever.

Dont Cancel it. He deserves the negative for accepting a trade for a game that he isn't going to ship out.
