New does not immediately mean tip with me.  If it arrived promptly as well I'll tip.  I've gotten a few new things in the mail that took forever to arrive; the newness pretty much counteracted my disappointment with the delay.  If all went well though, a tip is a nice gesture.

As a side note, if the buyer ever solicits or requests a tip, I generally wont.  I did it once and it never felt right, and I noted such in the comments.

I do try to tip first time sellers though, as a tip was provided for me on my first trade.  So far I think I've been the first for 2 traders and it was nice to send them a few extra points.

You're going to get a ton of different answers for this one. Everyone has different criteria.

Some tip for fast shipping.

Some tip for good communication.

Some tip if the shipping was more costly than usual.

Some tip for new sealed items.

Some tip because it's a rare game they wanted.

Some tip because they  were expecting disc only and got full package.

Some tip because it's the seller's first trade and they want to welcome them.

Some don't tip at all.

And nobody's incorrect.

That kind of flowed like a Shel Silverstein poem.

Truthfully, it is all up to you. Everybody has a personal criteria in their mind as to when to tip a seller. My latest trade for Silent Hill: Homecoming I gave a tip. The disc had no scratches on it, the case was pretty mint as well. In addition, the shipped it priority and shipping was nearly $6! Consider I normally ship first class and an average game to ship out the costs me ~$2.27. I felt this warranted a tip.

About 1/4 of the games I send out are new and sealed.  I never expect a tip for them, at all.  I agreed to send them for the point value listed, not for the hopes of getting 50 points more.  As such, just for an item being new, no, I don't tip for that.

If cheez changed it from the incorrect your to you are, then he'd have a haiku.

Unless the game took abnormally long to ship, I pretty much always tip.

In my 6 positive trades, I've left three tips. I'd probably have left a tip for another of them, but I was still fairly new, and low on points, so I wasn't very comfortable with doing that. But now that I have a surpluss of points, I tip pretty freely.

But then, I don't really request items very often.

No I meant, the other way. He had 18 syllables instead of 17.  Cheez may be going non traditional though, free from the chains of syllable restrictions.  That's the rice in cheeznrice.

Never really get that many sealed games, but when I do, I tip.

New games goes above and beyond what is expected imho and I will always tip for sealed.

I was one of those lucky traders to receive a tip. Yes

Thanks again! Hope you enjoyed your movie. Smile
