I've been looking at getting an action, FPS, or possibly action packed RPG game for PC. Some of the games I've been looking at are as follows: Gears of War, Crysis, Far Cry 2, Call of Duty  4 and 5, GTA 4, and Mass Effect. I'm looking for something with good graphics, exciting combat, and gameplay.

Any suggestions? Which is the best game? If there are any you would recommend that I haven't listed feel free to let me know!

Thanks!

Add Bioshock to that list too. Which one should I get first?

Bioshock is action/rpg/fps which is great

Crysis is pure action but AMAZING graphics (probably best ever)

COD 4 is a above average action SP and an excellnt MP but you are about a year or so too late probably

I'd probably go Bioshock due to the action and rpg (sorta not deep but good) elements.

I will echo the Bioshock statement. I have only played Far Cry (don't bother, IMO), CoD 4 (ok, but a bit late, like stated), I didn't like GTA at all, the story didn't interest me, Crysis I have only heard of because of it's graphics, and not played the others, although Mass Effect would probably be high on my list, from what I have read of it, but not having played any of them, I have to go Bioshock.

Plus, as a bonus, Bioshock 2 will be out early next year, so your wait for a sequel will be short. And you WILL be waiting for a sequel, no matter how you feel about the storyline of the first.
