Hey all,
Apologies for the second post, but the original thread was locked so I couldn't post this follow up.
Amazon briefly jacked the price up to $46, but they've dropped it back down to $39 for the moment. Free super saver shipping:
One of their storefronts, First Family Acquisitions, is selling for even slightly lower than that. These are the best retail prices for DAO: Regular edition I've seen anywhere.
Happy bargain hunting.
Nice find. I just picked it up at Rogers last night with one of their promotions.

Are you going to buy one, or are you hoping someone else will buy one so you can get it from them?

Don't feed it!
Question: Rogers?
Elfshot: I'm still holding out for the Collector's edition. Currently 10th in line. But my birthday is coming up, so I've thrown both editions on my amazon wishlist and I'll see what edition comes in first.
As I'm currently 27th in line for the regular edition (and DA:O still has yet to be traded according to the system) my guess is that by the time my spot in the queue comes up I'll have played it and beaten a copy from amazon.
Shintoki, please keep this thread civil and on topic. I really don't want to have it locked for petty bickering again. If people find it anywhere for a better deal, I'll edit the name of the thread to reflect the lowest price.

You got to move up to 10th in line because I deleted my request for the CE. I couldn't wait for it, and ended up buying the CE. I was going to keep it on my request list, because it's just that awesome, but figured at nearly 1000 points, there's just no reason to have a second copy, so I finally deleted my request yesterday.
It was weird. Even though I already have the game, it was so difficult to click delete, not because I want another copy, but just because it had those words 'you are the first in line'.
jsoftcheck:Question: Rogers?
It's a Canadian movie/game rental store. Occassionally they actually have decent promos to trade in games (I get from Goozex) and get new ones for free.

Don't users post deals all the time? Granted some have various motives, but if somebody is looking to purchase DA: O then this deal might apply to them.
Hey Maskim, thanks for the boost! I totally understand not wanting to give up the coveted "first" spot.
Question for you: I'm also debating dropping it from my requests because of the bonus items -- as I understand it, these special items come via "codes" you input when you install the game. If I get a used copy, with used codes, those items won't actually be available to me, will they? Just checking.
I still really want the stupid cloth map (I'm a sucker for fancy maps. had the huge Fallout 3 collector's guide map laminated and hung it on my wall.) but if I can swindle it as a birthday gift, I might just save those 950 points for something else.
jsoftcheck:If I get a used copy, with used codes, those items won't actually be available to me, will they? Just checking.
That is correct. The codes are for in-game DLC and are not required to be included when traded.
You are correct on the codes. If you get a used copy, they probably used the codes. The only way to get the bonus content will be to pay for it as DLC.
You might get lucky and get a copy where those codes are unused, but it's doubtful. Once they're used, they're gone too, so you're right, if you get a used copy of the game you're not getting Shale, or your CE bonus items, or the Blood Dragon Armors.
Other than having the fancy package sitting on your shelf, which totally makes sense being that it's the collector's edition, there's not much incentive to get this one used. The items won't be included, and although it does come with that map, I was unimpressed by the map. The printing is pretty poor, and on mine somehow one of the threads was stuck to the disc, so just by taking the disc out to install it, I unraveled like a foot of map string.
On the other hand, it is just cool to have, so you might want to keep it on your list as an eventual game to get, but get the regular edition just to play in the meantime. Then when you eventually get a match for the CE, you trade out your regular one.
I am going to pick it up from Rogers as well when I grab the new CoD. What games did you trade in for it?

Games I'll never touch anytime soon Halo 3, Star Ocean: The Last Hope and Mario Kart Wii.
They still accept Fable II and CoD 4 for MW2...but they only had ps3 versions when I went. I'll hold of for the 360 version or pickup ACII.
With signing up for their rewards program (required, $10) I earned enough points to get $10 off my next purchase.
Well done, Cheez.
Although I really liked Fable 2, it's one of those rpg's that unlike most with choices and consequences, I really couldn't ever see myself going back and replaying. It was great the first time through, but somewhere between nearing the end and making a new character I realized I had no incentive to play anymore.

I intend to eventually get them back, but I had no immediate interest to play any of the games I ditched. I do however want to play DA:O If I can make sure I finish Borderlands first...
