I've got the TiVo set to record it. I plan on being too busy with Dragon Age to actually watch it tonight.

It's just a remake of the exact same miniseries from the early 80's. Aliens come when the world needs a 'savior' more than ever before. They fulfill that role, and are accepted into human society as the kind benevolent teachers to mankind. They look like us, they talk like us, they want to help us.

Then it's discovered that they aren't really what they appear to be (in the old series they were really lizard type beings under their human masks, using humans as a food source, and trying to rob our planet of its resources while enslaving us) so a small resistance rises against them.

Due to my fond memories of this series from childhood, I'm very interested in it. By the same token, being that I've already seen it, it dampers my motivation to watch it immensely.

It is a re-due of a TV show that aired in the 80's. The dude who plays freddy Kruger was in it. Basically, aliens who look like us come down all lovey dovey we come in peace. They really enslave the humans. They also find out that the aliens are really in disguise and look reptilian.

this is better than what I said. I have fond memories as well, but I watched the ending to the second mini series and I kept saying to myself... dang, hope the new series is better... it did not age well:) But they did good with Battlestar so I have hope.
