When we saw the system requirements many of us thought there was an error - it was fairly reasonable except for the ~25GB of HD space! I mean, that is nearly *twice* the size of the biggest games I've ever seen (Empire: Total War is ~15GB and Dragon Age is supposedly about the same). And since most games are <10GB (Batman is ~7, Borderlands is ~3) ... 25 seemed wrong.
BUT ...
I got it today, and it was on *TWO DVD's* ... and really did demand 25GB! It was still installing at last check ... had to remove Majesty 2, KotOR and a couple other things to have space for this and Dragon Age ...

Is it the audio that takes up all that space?
I think the current champ is Age of Conan: something like 30GB.
I remember the days when you had "optional" full installs from CD that took up 600MB and only the most hardcore could devote that much space to a single game. How the times have changed.

Diablo II's full install was something in the realm of 1.5 GB. I remember thinking that was celestial.
Yep, times have changed. Then again so has gaming. Things are more complex and graphically, the bar is always going up. No wonder Terrabyte drives are getting cheaper lol.
Then you have the opposite such as games like World of Goo that has a 64mb install executable and only needs 100mb of space :)

lol, I too remember when that GB barrier was broken. WTF do they want from me!? I yelled.
25-30GB a game now though...holy cow.

I HIGHLY doubt that Microsoft (or even the xbox consoles) will EVER stop. That's a silly assumption, though.
