Many think Modern Warfare 2 will end up as GOTY (not a given though), but what do we like so far?

As of right now, RE5. Had a blast with that game, and co-oping it with other goozers.
Haven't had a chance to try out borderlands yet though.
I'm sure I will be sucked into MW2 when it comes out...
Was also looking forward to bioshock2, but thats a no-show for this year....
I had a blast with Batman but Borderlands is awesome. I have put more time into this game than I did in finishing Batman on hard and in way less time.
Reserving full GotY judgment until i've put more time into Uncharted 2 MP and get hands on with Borderlands and MW2...
For now, Batman:AA (just ahead of InFamous and RE5) - I expected it to enjoy the game but thought the hype surrounding it was a little much until I actually played it. It FAR exceeded my expectations.
They may be long shots for GotY, but Shadow Complex and Demon's Souls should be considered IMO.

Batman was just behind Borderlands for me. I am going to post a XBLA.PSN/WiiWare poll shortly.
Although I've only played 3 of thge games on the list, I voted for Batman. I got it as a gift on Steam and I was pretty much blown away. I can't believe it was made by a rookie developer. I don't know if I'll be able to go back to stealth games where they don't give you wall hacks. The only thing I didn't like about it, other than some really petty nitpicking, was that it was a bit shorter than I wanted (it would have been perfect if they had you go against 1 more villain, preferrably Mr. Freeze), and kind of linear and uninteractive - if they had made all the computers, monitors, papers and books, etc. interactable, just for flavor, like the objects in Fallout 3 we might just have had GOTY for the next 5 years.
Second place (and a very distant second), even though it's not on the list, I would have to give to Brutal Legend, it was pretty much what I expected - solid but poorly implemented gameplay, excellent writing, gets worse near the end. Not as good as Psychonauts but I was still pleased.
Third place: Risen, the unofficial sequel to the Gothic series. It was way too hard, but I couldn't stop playing it.
4th would be Scribblenauts, I got bored of it real fast but I have to admire the amount of effort it must have taken to put together such a game.
5th place goes to Madworld, which I was not all that impressed by, and it all goes downhill from there. I'm still waiting for monday for Borderlands to unlock on steam, so maybe my mind will be changed. But Batman definitely takes the bat cake for now.

Sweet. After getting some hands on time with Shadow Complex on a friend's 360, I was utterly blown away considering it's a downloadable game. I was tempted (and still am) to pick up a 360 on it's account and to play a few exclusives i've missed out on over the last few years.

I am going to do separate handheld and PC polls too. Feel free to make suggestions as those are not my gaming background.
Though not on the list, I'm having a blast with metroid prime trilogy.

So far i would have to say Borderlands. At first i was thinking it may be a little borin. But i can see myself playing through this game 5 maybe 6 times.
Well a number of games have still yet to come out in 2009 like mw2 and ac2 but there's my predictions anyway for the ps3 and 360:

The only 2009 console game I've played so far is WWE Legends of Wrestlemania. May I ask why that's not on the list?

Something about crap on a cracker.
I like Brutal Legend more than the four games I've played on that list, although I haven't played Uncharted and Borderlands yet, and I expect both of them to be pretty good. I'm pretty Meh on Modern Warfare 2. I'm sure it'll be a fun game for fans of that sort of thing, but more realistic shooters (WWII/modern military stuff) have just never done it for me, with the exception of Terrorist Hunt in Rainbow Six Vegas.
I really did not dig on Killzone 2 at all. It's maybe the best-looking video game I've ever played, but the level design was cliched, the characters one-dimensional tools and the writing nonsensical and idiotic. (Why were the Helghast wearing gas masks on their home planet, while the good guys didn't need 'em?)
My list goes like this so far:
Brutal Legend
inFAMOUS
Beatles: Rock Band
MLB 09: The Show
Batman: Arkham Asylum (need to play more, could rise or fall)
Wii Sports Resort
Games I plan to play that could easily make the cut: Left 4 Dead 2, Borderlands, Uncharted 2, Dragon Age: Origins
Games that I wouldn't object to seeing on the list but that're in genres that aren't generally my thing: Modern Warfare 2, Forza 3
Games that I expect will be good that I may not get to: Demon's Souls, Modern Warfare 2 (yeah, I know this is a repeat), Metroid Prime Trilogy, Assassin's Creed 2
