Like some gamers, I am looking forward to MW2 coming out next month. I'm usually not big on multiplayer games, but honestly COD 4 MW was the first game that really got me hooked on playing online. My bro got me a copy one Christmas, he brought his machine over to my place and we played all week. Tons of fun.
So the question is - when MW2 comes out, would it be best to get it for my PC or my 360? I'm tempted to get it for both, but I know that with my limited time (being a dad and going to grad school) I can only devote time to this game on one machine.

So what do you think?
Which platform are you playing this game on?
No need to respond if you don't like or don't want this game....
I have my preorder in for 360; don't PC game too much so was an easy decision

PC if you have to get the game, but I'm considering avoiding it due to what they're trying to pull on the PC version.
Short of 'going in the basement', those aren't terrible cons. I tend to lean into whatever the display is, whether it's my 22" LCD or my 55" HDTV, so size doesn't really matter to me. Mics are used plenty on PC, so I'm going to assume you're just suggesting you don't have one. I use a $12 mic that has a lifespan of roughly 5 years (I just bought my second...RIP Mic #1 2004-2009)
Now then, the downside. The PC version of this game is losing much of what often sets PC games apart; dedicated servers, modding and the like. All that will really remain is a superior looking game (if you have the hardware), and as much as I love to tout PC > Consoles, this may not be enough for this title, so really you could go either way.
IF I get the title, it'll be for PC, as the community tends to last longer and the dollar goes further there. However, with the kick to the nuts IW is serving PC users, I question if a community will form at all.

I'm not sure that will be possible.

In your situation, I'd get it for PC.
You don't have Live already (I assume, since you listed it as a con). Therefore, I also assume from that that you don't have buddies on Live. You already mentioned that your brother will be playing on PC and that you like to play with him. That right there is reason enough to go for the PC version.
Plus, you just upgraded your PC. Why waste the hardware?
And I'd bet you could hook your PC up to your big screen TV, if you really wanted to.

A solid point. Unless your tv was made in 1930, there's usually a way. I've been tempted to try it on my big one, but IDK where to put the mouse and keyboard =(

Since this is an obvious console game getting a gimped PC version I would definitely go for the X360 version ... just like I'd recommend getting Dragon Age for pC. It is *always* best to buy the target platform version.

screw that, my desktop or laptop can't even run the menus i bet
ehh i guess it will be a wash since Fallout 3 played better on the 360.

to add, because of Steam, PC will also be untradeable
Thanks for all the replies - still have some stuff to consider.
Oh -some clarifications. I just remebered I got an card for 12 mo of xbox live gold as a gift. I don't play online much, so I haven't used it. I'll have to break it out. haven't found any games recently that sucked me in online - In FIFA 09 people either quit if they go down 0-2 or beat you 0-10. I tried Far Cry 2 online, but it was REALLY disappointing...... I recently traded for Bad Company - I wonder if there are any online games still going on for that? I
Yeah - I read that IW is planning on taking away support for dedicated servers. That's kind of sad. It does sort of takes away the reason to go PC. I just wish MS would create a mouse and keyboard for the xbox. Playing a FPS on the controler just isn't the same for me.
Honestly, I'll probably get to play more if I buy the xbox version. The PC stays in the office downstairs for school work etc.
I won't get to play with my bro if I go xbox, but honestly, our schedules haven't been matching up much. If I do go xbox, the positive thing is I may open up a side of the xbox that I really haven't used much and I could always invite my bro over and play special ops in split-screen mode.....
Worse comes to worse, if I don't like the Xbox version, I could always sell or trade it off, then get the PC version.
I'm not too sad on the PC upgrade - I needed to upgrade anyway as I built that machine about 4 years ago and it was running SLOW..... I did the upgrade on the cheap, keeping drive, case, etc and updating the Mobo, RAM, Processor, Vid card - I didn't go all out, I went with mid-range, value-priced components.
Def leaning Xbox at this point.......
Quick question on Dragon age..... not much into RPG's but I recently completed Mass Effect and loved it. I've been checking out Dragon Age though and it looks interesting. Think Dragon Age might apeal to a person who likes Mass Effect???
maybe, what did you really enjoy in mass effect?
