I have a brilliant new idea to start including a free random PS2 game (disc-only) with my full package PS2 trades in an effort to get rid of all my 100 point untradeables. My hope is that people will tip and I'll unload these for essentially half price and save some money on shipping. Assuming the bonus game is playable and I don't ask/beg you for a tip...
Totally depends on the game...but yea I would IF it was a game I wanted. LIke Quake 2 for the PS1 would be awesome.

If it's something I don't want and never asked for, I don't want to feel obligated to leave a tip.
I think the problem here is that you're doing it specifically to get a tip. If you are just unloading games you don't want, fine. If you're unloading games you don't want and expecting to get something in return, that's not nearly as cool.
Most of the games you'd ship out would go for 100 points on the Goozex Marketplace, I imagine. I don't think you should expect people to pay half the asking price for something they didn't expect unless they were already in the market for it.
Great idea, I'd if the game isnt a crummy sports game

I doubt these are games that anyone woudl really want, as he said they were essentially untradeable 100 point games. Like, I am not holding my breath for anyone to request NHL 2004 for PS2 (let alone 24 ppl as I am 24th in line).
I think he knows he's not going to get those 100 points because it's never going to be requested, so he's trygin to see if there's a way he can get 50 instead in tip form. At best, I think you could hope for a 50% tip rate, in which case you average 25 points per extra game sent. If that's cool with you, yeah try it. You could probably help your cause by preselecting who youre going to send the bonus games to by reviewing their tip history and frequency on past trades.
Personally I think the best use of those games would be to hang on to them until Gamestop has another Trade 6 games in, get an extra 40% to your trade-in value for those games. The worthless 100 point untradeables woudl just serve as filler to get you up to the 6 game number, while only 1 or 2 of the games would be substantial. Surprisingly with the 140% credit you can get decent return on the trade-ins. Then use that credit to get an accessory or somethign else that you can't trade for on Goozex.

I probably would tip as long as the the whole transaction is satisfactory. However, if there is anything I don't like about the transaction, I would not be swayed to give a tip even if a free game was sent to me. The free item also has to be in good condition, otherwise, I would think you are trying to dump garbage on me.
I actually try to send out a little something with every request and they range from stickers and bookmarks to OXM and demo discs (game and anime) and games/movies from cereal boxes. I usually try to look at the member's profile to help me decide what to give them. I haven't received many tips for doing this, but that's okay because I don't want the items anymore. I would much rather give them to someone who might enjoy them. So you can send out the games, but you shouldn't expect a tip.
If it were something I actually wanted, I'd send ya 50 pts.
Otherwise, no tip for you!
I have actually done this once. I put in Madden 07 disc and manual with Madden 10 and received a tip. But I put it in there just to get rid of it, I didn't anticipate to get a tip.
instead of just sending out a random game, you would be better off telling the user you get matched up with that you have some extra games and you are going to send them one
Then give them a list of what you want to get rid of and let them choose which game they might want

I wouldn't tip for any sports games unless it was like mvp baseball 2003 for the PC :)
Some games I would tip for as long as they weren't total crappers.
I hate anything DBZ so I voted for that.
I LOVE this idea, but it need some tweaking. Maybe call it a "tip teaser" that way people don't "expect" a tip, but this bonus PS2 disc is dangling saying "hey if you like me, tip the guy".
I would certainly consider tipping if the game was half decent but I'm sort of a PS2 game collector so I have 95% of PS2 games I'd ever want.
I'd tip for naked pictures of your girlfriend...as long as she's legal and not ugly
Honestly, I'd feel obligated to. Unless it's not working, or just a sports game from 2003 or earlier. One dude tried to pay me to take one!

Interesting. Mind if I ask why?
