Hello traders

Another one joins the ranks of online traders (frustrated from ebay's ridiculous fee structure)! So I thought of giving goozex a shot....

Quick questions... I did read the faqs for most general info but I thought some tips might be helpful here. 

1. I generally shipped through priority mail + delivery confirmation in past (using ebay). Is there any other recommended way to go about here? If using media/parcel mail, the cost of bubble mailer, delv. confirmation etc added up around $5-6. Any suggestions here for watching my costs? (I don't have a printer for using USPS/ Paypal's shipping labels).

2. If I have a game that's a full package (original case, manual and working disc) but the case is less than perfect cosmetic condition... does that qualify for getting dinged on feedback? Or should I just PM the requesting trader about the merchandise and let them decide if they want to pursue the trade?

Btw, how quickly do the lines move on new games? I noticed requests on new games are in hundreds whereas very few in slightly older games... how well does that work for most people? Just curious... .

1. First of all use first class mail, Priority is a waste of money still goes to the same place just slightly faster. Second of all, reuse bubble mailers. Whenever you get a game, carefully open the package, when you want to mail one out put the game in the old bubble mailer, then close it with packaging tape. Tadah you saved $2 or, if you REALLY want new ones, buy a bulk of 50-100 on eBay you'll get MASSIVE savings.

2. No, if it isn't in good shape you can't get hit with a negative or neutral. The worse that can happen is you'll get +5 feedback instead of +10, it will still be a positive and doesn't negtively affect you or your reputation because it is all subjective.

Hi and welcome!

1) the preferred shipping method within the US is First Class + DC (Delivery confirmation) usually between $2 - $3
If you did get a printer you could save about 80 cents on DC by printing through PayPal

2) Yes, they can leave a +5 instead of a perfect +10, however this does not effect the number of points you receive from the trade. It will ding your feedback score, which allows you to have more trade slots available for sending and receiving games.

Always depends on the game. example I had a very bad spot in line for Batman, somewhere around 120 or something, I added it the day after it went live, (Aug. 25th I think.) made it to about 30th in line last week, and skipped some restricted traders, should arrive on Friday.

1. Point noted about first class mail. I always do try and reuse bubble mailers but sometimes excessive taping from the sender kills it.

2. I will send the requester a PM and let them know before accepting the trade. Would that be okay?

Buying mailer envelopes in bulk is a smart move but it would take me 10years to go through a pack of 100.

That would be very okay. just by letting them know they'll probably be more lenient on whether they give you a +5 or not.

Once you have the code for your signature, copy it to your clipboard.

If you're on the Forum side of the site, to the right of your username at the top there is an "Edit" button.

Open that page and you'll see 3 tabs below the banner ad. select the second one titled "site options" a little ways down you'll see "Signature" paste your code there. it should look something like this:

EDIT: Removed some of the square brackets to break the code.

I've got a question, and instead of starting a new thread, I'll just ask here and see if I can get a reply.

I'm a new user on the site.  I mailed off my first two trades last Tuesday, and received confirmation both games were delivered last Thursday.  One of the "buyers" has already confirmed reception of the game, and I've received my points accordingly.  The other "buyer" hasn't confirmed reception of the game...how do I get my points if he/she never confirms it.  How long should I wait for a reply?

15 days after sending the game if the buyer does not leave feedback the trade is auto closed and you get a positive and your points.  Some people want to test the games before they leave feedback so they dont do it right away and some people just forget to leave feedback.  After a couple of days you can send a polite msg asking them if they got the game okay.  If they dont respond just wait patiently and it will auto close and you will get your positive.

Also nice on using DC on your first trades.  You will find using Deliver Confirmation makes trading on here a lot easier and you should never have problems with people not getting the games you send.

Awesome!  Thanks for the quick reply!  I was amazed how fast both games got to their destination.  I mailed them Tuesday(in NC) and they arrived across the country to their destinations(CA and WA) on Thursday!

I used Goozex's mailing labels and 6x9 bubble envelopes to mail them...it cost me $4.27 and $4.44 to mail them out.  Are shipping labels off of PayPal really a lot cheaper than Goozex's mailing labels?  Goozex's labels were around $3.50 each with DC...
