Hey everyone,

I wanted to copy and paste here a preview of our upcoming newsletter:

CAUSE: AUCTION TO SUPPORT OUR WOUNDED TROOPS

Last year we joined forces with the non-profit organization Cause (Comfort for America’s Uniformed Services), that helps wounded warriors recuperating in military hospitals across the country.  As we gear up for another Holiday donation drive to support our troops, you can help Cause out today!

Cause Auction -- You can support Cause by participating in an online auction. From 11:00 AM on October 11, 2009, to 10:00 PM on November 10, 2009, Cause will auction one-of-a-kind items to raise money for programs that help America's military wounded.   Goozex will be donating the Modern Warfare 2 Limited Edition Xbox 360 Elite to Cause as a small token of our appreciation for all the hard work they do.  To participate in the auction event please visit http://www.cause.cmarket.com

Volunteers Needed -- Cause is looking for volunteers at their hospitals to help recovering soldiers get their game on!  Cause is unveiling a new mobile PlayStation 3 game cart that is specifically designed to bring the fun and distraction of video gaming to those confined to a hospital bed.  They need experienced gamers and preferably those that are handy with how to setup and troubleshoot a PS3.   The mobile PS3 game cart will be launching at Walter Reed Army Medical Hospital in Washington D.C. with the intention of growing the program out to military and VA hospitals across the country.  If interested, please email mailto:programs@cause-usa.org  for details.

Here's a pic of the PS3 mobile gaming unit.  You can see how it is designed to fit with hospital beds.

I contacted the lady at the organization about doing this in the Denver area. I heard back a little but not much. I'm still willing out here though.

You would hate it if it had a 360 in it. Wink

On topic - this is a sweet cause!

I wonder if actual troops would want to play Modern Warfare 2 (as opposed to  a non military game) or if they've seen enough  actual warfare that the last thing want to do is play a game that simulates more of it.

I was actually thinking the same thing, but no one said it HAD to be Modern Warfare 2. There are plenty of other good games for the PS3.
