...does it make you a bastard to want to take that little Canadian flag off your list on your account? I mean, I love Canadians. I've got no problem at all with the country, I just apparently can't....send...anything to Canada....O_o

First time I sent something, it took so long to get there that the user threatened negative feedback until it finally arrived just before the last possible day. Second time, well I just found out the USPS sent it to Goozex as "undeliverable" because it apparently no longer had a customs slip on it. The post office won't let you send something to Canada without a customs slip, so obviously it was on there...but somehow on its way to canada it...disappeared...which is interesting because it was supposedly stuck on there pretty good...

But I mean yeah, the cost isn't the problem....US/Canadian CUSTOMS is the problem...I know a guy in Canada who's been waiting 4 months to recieve a package from a friend in the US, it's clear to me this isn't just a small problem. The weird thing is I haven't had trouble sending and recieving things to and from other countries, just freakin' CANADA. What is the DEAL here?!?

But yeah, I seriously think I'm going to just stop sending things to Canada on here, because the risk for undeserved negative feedback/neutral is too great to take. I gave it a chance, it blew up in my face. Sorry, Canadians -- blame customs.

I've posted on my mailing to canada problems before.  Luckily my last two games sent got there in great shape.  But today I got a game in FROM Canada (MGS twin snakes, disc only) and the person mailing it put both discs in a really super thin round cd shaped case that was really flexable, seperated only by a tissue, and taped around it 3 times, and put it in a paper envelope.  The second disc is cracked up into the data from the inside ring, and the rest of the ring is cracking.  Needless to say I am super disappointed cause I put this game on my list to get when I first joined goozex, finally got matched, and this happens.  Damn it :(

If you are having problems trading with Canada then by all means take it off your list.  If you keep your customs number that you get when you send the game out you will not have to worry about getting a negative ever when sending to Canada.  I am happy when people have their trading region open to us up here because it benifits everyone however if it isnt working then well you tried your best.

I had to temporarily remove Canada from my trading regions as I am not walking 10 blocks through a sketchy neighborhood to get to the local post office. I never had any problems with shipping to Canada, I just don't want to get mugged.

I have no problems with America's Top Hat except...I have to go to the Postal office. I can't print them out using Paypal anymore due to the lack of customs form =[

No offense but if you are having issues sending to Canada, the problem comes from the source (aka either you or the post office you ship it from). I've dealt with hundreds of pkgs to and from the U.S. for years and only a couple times did I have a problem (which is damn good considering the ratio). You have greater chances of losing a pkg internally.

I'm not generalizing because a lot of my fellow Goozex users from the U.S. send to Canada with no issues at all but often the users just doesn't understand what is required when you ship out of the country. Often it doesn't help with some specific postal outlets giving you either the wrong info or are inconsistant in the procedure to ship across the borders.

It's kinda lazy saying I ain't walking X amount of blocks to go to the post office. Are you telling me that in, say, a 3 day delay you are not going to pass at all by a post office? Unless you work from home, in the fields or in the kind of small town with only one post office (then again, it would be small enough for you to go then, that is unlikely, no matter where you are.

Btw - I wasn't aiming you in my comment Dev.....your reasoning is perfectly understandable. Its just a comment I hear a lot and makes me cringe everytime.

Just you, I've done over 6 trades with them and had no problems!

In reference to Killmak's post: "If you keep your customs number that you get when you send the game out you will not have to worry about getting a negative ever when sending to Canada."

Not true, goozex disputes' dept confirmed a negative against me 2 days ago even though I had retained the customs number. I have 915 positive feedback too and the other guy had like 30, it's really made me rethink about trading with Canada, and made me rethink my confidence in goozex disputes' dept.

It could just be the post office I use. I usually either use the automated post office or this one post office that's actually located in a gas station (if you can believe it). I like using that post office, though, because it has the most friendly hours of any post office I've ever used:

9 AM to 7 PM weekdays

10 AM to 5 PM weekends

Compared to even the automated services, this is great. The automated post offices close at 5 on Weekdays and 3:30 on weekends. This to me is kind of....stupid...because if it's automated like an ATM (which it is), then why can't it be open 24/7? Obviously if you're there at 11 PM then it's not going out until tomorrow, but it should be an option to use the automated postal service 24/7, and I can't think of one good reason why the hell they should close the damn place up so damn early.

...but yeah, that's a rant of a different brand. When it comes to shipping to canada, I've used the same "gas station" post office twice, and had problems both times. I've never had any problem with domestic shipping at that location, but apparently international to Canada is an issue. They give me a customs slip and tell me what to write on it, I do so, and on the reciept I still have never seen any special code that would save my ass. Since the customs slip is like a sticker, it should be stuck on the package pretty damn good, so I don't know why these issues are popping up. I'm tempted to believe it's either my local USPS or Customs itself, because I know people who have had the same problems, and not at the same post office. Sometimes stuff gets held up in customs for what seems like...no reason whatsoever. Apparently sometimes someone rips the damn customs slip off the package and claims it's "undeliverable". I don't know, I don't quite get it.

Either way, it's proven to be quite the hassle for me here, so I've given up. Again, I'm not trying to insult Canadians or blame Canadians or suggest there's some problem with their postal service, because chances are the problem is with USPS and/or Customs. I'm glad other people haven't had problems, but if you'd read my original post at all, perhaps you wouldn't be so quick to suggest somehow it was my fault somewhere. I did everything I was told to do, I double checked to make sure I was doing it right, and I'm still having these issues. Rather than have unhappy Canadian users getting mad at me for circumstances out of my control, I'd rather just stay domestic since I don't seem to have any problems with that so far.

Did you dispute the negative and escallate it to Goozex?  They have stated multiple times on the forums that a customs # is considered on par with DC.  I would send them an e-mail to feedback@goozex.com and also send a pm to blackcoyote about this.  I will look for the posts they have made regarding this issue.

Edit: I cant seem to find the posts about it but I am sure if you wanted to start a thread asking about Customs numbers and how Goozex handles them someone will post the quotes from the people in charge that I cant seem to find.

no offense taken (nor inferred)... I understand not liking the lazyness factor. If I have to go to the post office at home, i usually try to get a group of errands that takes me near the post office.

As for the neighborhood I'm near, when there is 3 reports of people getting robbed within the first 3 weeks of classes, I decided to stay on campus as much as possible.

Yeah the dispute was escallated to Goozex. But maybe I'll go ahead and email them again to see if maybe it was just a fluke. Until then, I had had no problems shipping to Canada, and for some reason it seems that the games I get from Canadians are generally in better shape than the games I get elsewhere.
