So today's pointless poll is one I'm actually interested in the results. The goozex exchange is a great idea on paper. I was pumped to come home from work today and see what I could pick up with my current point surplus of about 7000.
And as many of you can attest... Surprise!!!
So my fellow penny pinchers.....I ask you...
The exchange, in its current form, is pure garbage. Selection is poor. Prices are a cruel joke.
Does it have potential? I don't know. I mean, I don't know if it's just not feasible for them to do, unless they charge such outrageous prices. However, I think whole heartedly, that if they can only do it with such insane prices, that they're better off removing the exchange, completely.
I'd rather have nothing than a proverbial insult and slap in the face.
Is it possible this is a big F you to the whiners who complain about getting new games?

There was no option for "I didn't like the selection and the prices" so I chose the last one.
I was already pretty iffy about the pricing and now that I've seen the point values, I don't think I will be using it. The only game I might consider is Wii Okami at 800pts. It's still expensive, but not quite as expensive as some of the other games/movies.
Voted for the last option since the selection and pricing left much to be desired.
That said, it seems like many people set their expectations a little too high. I'd like to see the exchange updated over time and really get a better sense of the value in the program before I pass any judgment on a personal level.
I just want to know who answered "Great! Picked up a game"...

I disagree with your statement here, as everyone who has been here during the last Exchanges knows that the pricing was set to 1600 points on most newer titles. I was expecting similar pricing, and nothing more than an increase to maybe 1800 points since it was being done as a permanent addition. But Goozex never offered any communication on how pricing would be. Even now as the Exchange is up and people are bitching about it, they have not explained the pricing, nor even said a word about anything.

I think they are too busy crying in a corner at how harshly we are taking the price point.

Probably trying to find a way to spin it. They will try to explain why the price point is so high. Regardless of the reason I don't see many, except for a few suckers, touching anything on the Exchange. It's just not reasonable pricing to anyone looking to purchase something, even if it reasonable to why Goozex set them that high.
I think it is odd that there has been no official response anywhere (at least none that I'm aware of). But honestly; A: It's Friday. B: They are probably taking a wait and see approach. It really doesn't matter how much we bitch and moan (for the most part). It only matters whether the items sell or not. And honestly, from the price points, I'm guessing they don't actually WANT any sales. They don't really gain anything by it, and it's just cash out of pocket, so there is really no motivation for them TO sell any thing through it. This way they can go "see, we brought it back" while, at the same time, not be out much money (you would hope so, at least). The oddest thing to me is how crappy and random the selection is. All things being equal, assuming they are buying with cash, why not offer the hottest items? I understand that less than even the price points.

i want to know why those games, why those prices. it seems like they did the complete opposite of what would make the exchange thrive.
Alright, who voted for the "great" option!!??!?!?!?

There is another thing we havent taken into account. Maybe something in their system screwed up when they tried making it go live and that caused the prices to be off. Or maybe they just hate us.
