Hello all

I have sent a game, and have been in contact with the buyer, and he says he has still not received the game.  He suggested that if he does not receive it before day 15 (which is tomorrow) that I should cancel the trade, instead of him giving negative feedback.

He says this way my feedback score will not suffer because of a mailing issue.

This makes sense on the surface, but I think this creates a coverup for the buyer, more than helping the seller.  I mean, if I look at a potential buyer, and see that 50% of the games he received never get there, then I will probably not sell to him, but by cancelling the trade, I would not know this information.

I'm leaning toward making sure he gives negative, but would like to know if this has happened to anyone else, and if anyone has advise.

if you sent the game dont cancel you will screw yourself of getting the game back.

Did you use delivery confirmation, if not that was your first mistake.  Make sure you use delivery confirmation that will protect you in events like this.

I wouldn't cancel the trade if you've actually shipped the game.  He can leave negative feedback then have it changed once the game arrives.  If you cancel the trade, then he receives the game, you will be out your points and have no way of getting the game back.  Do you have any proof that you sent the game?  If you didn't get DC, which I'm assuming you didn't, a receipt from the post office should be sufficient in proving that you sent it.

If you have DC (delivery confirmation) let him leave negative feedback.  Dispute it and supply that information in the Dispute Resolution Centre.  Escalate to Goozex once you've done that.  You won't have to worry.

Let them leave a negative feedback and then you can dispute it.  This will give the game a little extra time to get there.  If it still hasnt got there by the time the dispute is about to time out you can request a cancel and ask the buyer to return the game if it ever arrives.

You're right, in Canada, it cost me $2 to ship a game, but would cost $10 to get a DC.  So I don't have one.

Check the user's trade cancellation log. Has he accepted an abnormal amount of trade cancellation requests? If so, then this is probably a normal thing for him. Take the negative and then dispute is.

Do you at least have the reciept from the post office?

there have been precedents with using both receipts and Customs forms as proof of shipment; if you have either of them, i definitely would not cancel

Pizza guys are getting worse and worse looking. I guess all the good ones went into porn.

Another reason to save your receipt, they always take the customs form from me.
