When browsing movies, often multiple listings come up for a single title, and often the difference in description beyond aspect ratio, collector's editions, etc. is "checkpoint" or "sensormatic". Does anyone know what this means? I don't want to list offers incorrectly or make requests if this is something important. Does it relate to UPC code or distributor perhaps? I'm new to the community and any help would be appreciated.
I'm still trying to fighure this out as well. I have a few movies to list, but I don't want to get slapped with a negative just because I don't know the difference between Checkpoint and Sensormatic

Checkpoint and Sensormatic are the types of security used in the packaging. If you are worried, just use the UPC code on the product and it will take you to the proper listing.
Can someone else elaborate on this? I would like to get the csi season sets, but for the one that says nothing it cost 150 points then the one that says checkpoint cost 550. I am completely confused why.

Where can I find the UPC code? I can't find it anywhere on the site
Like G-Nitro says it just has to do with the type of security system in the stores that sold them. Personally, I list mine as both checkpoint and sensormatic. I know via UPC which is correct. When I get a match for the wrong one, I just send them a PM explaining that it's the other version and the only difference has to do with store security and leave it up to them if they want it. No one has rejected it yet. Then just delete the other listing immediately so you don't get another match.
On the back of the box in the white square in the bottom corner, just like with games. Then search by the UPC code rather than the title name.
i see what your saying. but I'm sill a little confused i mean your saying if i go for one that is 150 there probably isn't any difference except the security?
No difference except the security tag inside. Same box, same disc inside and same insert when one is included. These are usually made because of different chains using different types of security systems.
I just put both skus in the offer queu. Once one is selected I take the other off right away.

Yeah. Essentially these are the 2 common types of security systems in stores. I think one of them is the kind that has those little white tabs inside the thing, and the other is done some other way. So that the stuff can be inside the shrink wrap as not to be tampered with this is done at the time it is manufactured. They put different UPC codes on them so you can tell the difference between the products that way, and then the store orders the one that is appropriate for the type of security system they are using in their store. There is no difference between the DVD itself, the material on it, the artwork, anything. Now, you'll want to make sure you only list the version that have the same release date as yours though, version released at a different time will have differences with the DVD itself. But if you have a Sensormatic and Checkpoint version that were released on the same day, it's the same thing except for the type of store security.
If you're the buyer, go for the cheap one. If you're the sell, I suppose you can list it at the higher one, but my guess is that people are going to go for the lower point version and that one will be stagnant. Or if they are specifically looking for that security version for whatever strange reason they aren't going to actually want yours and will reject you when you send the PM. I listed mine at both no matter the price point for either, I just wanted my stuff to go as fast as possible.
So what's the point of having both in the system? I usually remove the security tag inside the box on plastic DVD cases. Are people really that picky about which one they get. Seems sill to me if the DVD is otherwise the same.
While this question isn't related to the checkpoint or sensormatic descriptions , it's also about Goozex listings I don't understand.
I was considering adding some season sets to my wants list , and some of them (mostly fox shows I noticed) have a "itunes sampler" edition. The disk listing and everything else appears to be the same as the standard version (as far as I can tell) so what's the difference (other than price)?
My assumption would be that the films are listed separately in the Muze database as Goozex is using it. As for a reason to make the distinction, the one case where I could see it making an actual noticeable difference is in the use of a checkpoint hard tag on a DVD box set- often, it will leave ridges where the cabling dug into the box. However, there's no question that it would be better to only have one listing with a "special condition" attached to the request (by message, if they don't provide one for requests) with this unusual requirement.
