Just wanted to give you all a heads up that I got a netflix survey in the mail with this question, "
Imagine that Netflix offers its subscribers the ability to instantly watch movies & TV episodes on their TV via their Sony PlayStation 3. There are over 17,000 choices that you can instantly watch. There are no advertisements or trailers, and movies start in as little as 30 seconds. You can fast-forward, rewind, and pause or watch again. The movies & TV episodes you instantly watch are included in your Netflix membership for no additional fee. To take advantage of this Netflix functionality, you will need: * A Netflix subscription * A Netflix Instant Streaming Disc (available for free). This disc must be put into your Sony PlayStation 3 whenever you want to instantly watch movies and TV episodes from Netflix over the Internet. * Your Sony PlayStation 3 must be connected to the Internet"
Discuss and enjoy.
smart move on netflix's part
I believe it was announced not too long ago that the Netflix thing was exclusive to 360, of course we all know exclusivity doesn't mean jack nowadays.

It is no doubt a timed exclusive. Netflix would be smart to eventually hook up with Sony as well.

Hmm. I haven't used Netflix in years, with the movie channels, hulu and my personal preferance to actually own the movies Iike or have seen them in theaters first, but I may get it again when this takes effect.
MY TACO IS BIGGER THAN YOURS!!!!!
Good deal.

That was my opinion, until I got it last week and have since watched 10 movies and a few TV shows for $9.
Now between Goozex opening the DVD trading doors and Netflix, I'm overwhelmed with media. I have around a dozen physical copies of movies I have to watch, then dozens in my streaming queue and then even more lined up on DVD. Eesh...

what is the resolution of the on demand streaming netflix movies. I'm just going to go ahead and admit since ive had my HDTV that I've become slave to HD. It's tough for me to watch non HD movies on my HDTV now.
Are the netflix streaming movies in HD?

you need the internet connection to support it, but yeah
I enjoy the hell out of netflix and for less then $10 a month I get unlimited streaming. I am not a fan of spending $60 on just cable each month and Netflix combined with other sites works better then cable for me.
There arent many movies in HD, but they do have decent quality. There are more TV programs available in HD than movies.
I rarely stream Netflix to my PC, but started to get hooked on using/browsing Netflix on my friend's 360 - so much more practical having access to it in the living room.
Considering i've been looking at investing in a 360 and/or PlayOn, this would be a great addition to the PS3.
If they wanted to take it one step further and allow you to watch a movie with your friends in Home, I wouldn't complain at all. Of course that's probably asking for far too much.

If Netflix comes to ps3 in HD, and i can get it for $9 a month, I would definitley think abotu signing up. But you know what would really sell me on this is Wet Willie's movie journal. The sheer amoutn of movies that kid has been able to watch in a month is incredible.
i use netflix on the 360, pretty nice feature, mostly older movies.
kinda bites the ps3 will need a "instant streaming disc" n the machine to use the feature (have to change a disk, get my arse off the couch), no disc needed for the 360, the software just dl's to the hd, lazy man special.
