Hey guys a few of us have been getting together on Friday nights and playing the Conduit.  We are trying to spark some more participation, so we are planning a tournament.  No date, rules or anything have been set as of yet, so lets use this to brainstorm ideas, and get the most we can out of it.....

I'm down for a tournament.  Depending on turnout and rules, I'm willing to put up a Wii Speak (and maybe even a Wii Motion+) as a prize.

I think a series of events: free-for-all, team battle, acs football, etc... to determine overall rankings would be cool.  Oh, and tks and gerardo have to play with their tvs off.  Ah, doesn't matter; we'll still get our butts kicked.  I ran straight at tks and emptied clips into him and he didn't move, there were no red "shot" indicators, he just stood there.  I got about point blank, then I just fell down.  All fun though.

Ill toss in a speak as well.  Im not sure if we can make our own teams, or if the computer still makes them for us.  I like your ideas, I also was thinking that depending on the modes we play, you can only keep your kills if your team wins, the person with the most kills in the end wins!!

Oh and, Tkz and Gerardo's kills cancel each other out...

Seems like everyone liked my Wii Speak Big Smile

Excellent idea for a tournament.  I'd be willing to offer up a prize, just not sure what yet.  Perhaps a video game or Goozex gift card, I'll figure it out later.  Maybe we could have a pool of prizes and the winner picks the prize first, second second, etc...

It would be fun to have some team games as well and give points based on team performance and not individual kills.  Of course we'd need free-for-all to determine the final standings or else we'd have a 50% tie for first.

I like the prize pool idea.  Im thinking that obviously we would want at least 8+ players to make it worth while.

We should think of a booby (he he) prize for the person ( I mean me) who will come in last place...We should make it a secret so no one tanks it on purpose.

For example, I hosted a golf outing a few years a go for a bunch of guys, and the guy with the highest score was given a sleeve of pink and purple womens golf balls.....

If all the interested people post the nights they are unavailable, I'm sure we can come up with a day that everyone can play.  Except if it's Gerardo, I say we play when he can't make it Big Smile

I like the white-elephant prize structure.  Everyone throws in a prize of some sort, and the rankings determine the order in which people get to select which prize they want.  Not  a requirement for the tournament, but it's a nice way to get participation from everyone.

I'm available most nights except for Saturdays.  My problem is my west-coastiness, which puts me at dinner hours when everyone else is ending their day and ready to play.

A prize pool would be an awesome idea....everyone puts one in, everyone gets something out.....What are your thoughts on the scoring system for this?  I want to get something going and get it on the calendar......

I'm all for multiple events.  We would definitely do an individual timed death match, a team event (I think it still maintains individual rankings), and a ASE football round.  For fun, we should do a manhunt one too; everyone hunts down the first place person.

I would prefer if the tournament can span a couple of nights, but I can understand if scheudles work better for a one-nighter.  It would also suck if someone could only make it one night, and their score is hurt by it.  But for those of us on the bottom, who plan on showing up every night, make out pretty good ;).

I say a tournament that spans 4 events or more would be good, perhaps have it run for a month.  I think with a prize pool, it would make it more fair to determine ranks.  Most of us are pretty flexible with the day, so we can play when everyone can show up.  Once we get the players, it should be easy to figure out when to play.
