Just got this game in the mail after spooon's Amazon tip, and so far, I'm quite pleased.  It plays out like an ultra violent GTA of sorts, with some stealth in the mix.  I'm only about 1.5hrs into it, but so far I'm loving it, and the freedom provided to me.  Especially like running up buildings, super jumps and of course, cutting people in 2.

Stealth is a huge attraction to me, but so far it seems a bit easy to do; I wonder if it'll get harder.  I'm often 'watched' but can still consume another soldier without much issue, now that I've gotten 'stealth consume'.  I know I'd be a bit freaked out if my soldier buddy just got enveloped nearby me!

I'm still not a great consoler yet, so sometimes I have some basic troubles with the sticks when I'm moving fast amidst mayhem, but it's coming along great.  A pretty solid investment here, though I'm not sure I'll plat it...some of the trophies look insane.

Prototype is without a doubt the most fun I've had with a game all year. The stealth options get harder once virus detectors are thrown into the mix, though. My personal favorite is sneaking into a military base, stealth consuming the targets, then using a devastator in the middle of the room and going ape**** on everything in sight until I'm the only thing left moving. Big Smile

I have encountered two of those viral detectors (early early mission); do they go red when you A) get too close or B) stay in their radius too long?  I waltzed through them, changing them yellow, got my kill, and left without issue, so I wasn't terribly concerned about them, but I did hurry.

Also, does there come a point like you suggested in your last line, where there is in fact no one left to kill (for a short while anyways), or is there ALWAYS guys coming?

The detectors go off when you stay inside their radius for too long. Of course, you eventually run into areas where there are several overlapping ones which makes it tougher. Then again, by that point you should be able to sabotage the detectors so you could always systematically shut them down one-by-one until you're free to go where you please.

As for the last line in my previous post, I was talking about being inside the base. Outside they just keep coming until you die, run away or destroy the base. Inside you can kill every living thing in there, shift into a disguise, then stroll right back out.

I did finally get around to doing that, but generally rather than stroll out, I just demolish the base...lol.  Gets a bit hairy sometimes, but I haven't died yet. Unfortunately, I cant get the 'complete the game without death' trophy, as I blew myself up once while figuring out the controls...lol.

In other news, I haven't seen a strike team yet.  They've been called on me, but they're so easy to kill while in the chopper.  I wonder how bad they are.
