How long will a new game stay at 1000?

I was planning on playing around with Fight night 4 for a little while then putting it up for trade here. But how long does a new popular game generally stay at 1000 points? I'm not so interested in the game that I'd want to take a 100-200 point hit(especially since I'm just starting on the site) to keep it for a little while.

depends on the game can be anywhere from 2-6 months, if not longer

A game like FNR4 has a pretty decent amount of demand and is a major release so unless there are some unforseen price drops on it, it should stay at 1000 for 2-6 months as has been stated above, so you don't really need to worry about it for now.

I have a game that's really really old and the points for it is 950 so I would say it depends on the game really.

well I wasn't trying to mock him or anything just saying I'm sure the demand for certain games, excuse me certain "new" games can stay pretty high for a decent amount of time depending on the game....

Yeah it depends on the popularity of the game.  Left 4 Dead stayed at 1000 points for a long time.

Sometimes they don't even last two weeks. I don't think either Wanted or Wheelman lasted that long.

If  you are nervous about the price dropping you can do three things to cover your ass:

1) Put the game on your offers, but on "hold" status - It will most likely allow you to be the first person to get matched whenever you do activate it.

2) Keep an eye on the number of requests the game has in the trading details.  If you see the request number down to 20 or so that is a sign the game might drop in points soon.

3) Keep an eye on the dollar price in general using ebay completed listings and/or amazon 3rd party sellers. If you see the price drop within the $20-$30 mark this is another sign the game will probably lower in points soon.

#2 is very critical because of the formula goozex uses to calculate point values. It's simple supply and demand. If there are more offers than requests, the game is sure to drop very soon.

Thanks for the replies. I imagine this game staying at 1000 longer than wanted or wheelman and yeah the demand for it is insane. Like 20 offers on hold and 200+ requests on the 360 version. Just wanted to make sure.

Lol I don't know if I'll be the first to trade but it probably won't be too long. I got my bubble sleeves in from amazon finally, had to decline a trade of De Blob for wii a few days ago. I've never played a fight night and recently really got in to Rocky so at the very least I was gonna give it a shot for a week or two, but we'll see
