Honestly I never liked it. Red faction 1 had the novelty of being a fairly early shooter on the PS2 with some new ideas about explosions, no matter how poorly and rarely implemented. Red faction 2 seemed to have... absolutely no correlation whatsoever, and was just your average bland shooter. The newest red faction seems to be a sequel to the first with only very vague, vague references to 2.

But if it's cheap and you gots the points, I personally don't say no to (most) video games!

I really liked RF1 on the PS2.  It was a bit of a half life 1 rip off, but in a good way.  Red Faction 2 threw that all out the window and made a generic dual wielding, takes a million shots to kill something shooter.  For the single player.

HOWEVER

Both RF1 and RF2 have OFFLINE MULTIPLAYER with BOTS ... and those modes are a ton of fun for couch multi.  The maps were really designed for split screen and it ends up being the best next to the Timesplitters series for that type of play.

Yeah I guess I sounded overly negative due to all the whining on the gamefaqs forums. RF1 really is great, my first PS2 game if I recall. I'm just sick of people claiming its version of geo-mod was like the second coming or something.
