I actually know the answer to this one. They were all experiments, leading up to Kevlar51. KevlarXXXXX was the only other one who could survive the adamantium bonding though. Wicked cool fight between KevlarXXXXX and KevlarXXXXXI, but not very fair when you figure they gave 51 teleportation, too.
