So, here I am, sticking address labels on the latest games I'm shipping out, reusing padded envelopes that'd been sent to me. I noticed that one of the envelopes I was relabeling had been reused at least 3 times before being shipped to me. This envelope had obviously been thru a lot, yet I was still able to relabel the thing and get another use out of it. Which got me wondering how many uses one of these padded mailers actually had in them...

So I've started adding hash marks to the bottom of these padded envelopes. I'm hoping that other Goozexers will see them and catch on to the concept, adding their own hash marks as the mailers get re-sent; especially the newer members. I want to see these mailers really taken care of, so that they can be reused over and over again. So I thought I'd make a game of it.

The only prize here is self-respect, I'm afraid - knowing that what we're all doing is saving some trees. By marking the bottoms of these envelopes, we can keep score with how long they last. It sounds a little boring, but if enough Goozexers catch on to this, a lot of trees can be saved.

Sorry, I may have watched too much of the Planet Green channel...

Better hope I don't get one of the envelopes, as it would end with me. lol I never reuse mailers, and only use brand new poly-bubble mailers.

I resuse mailers. I got one where the labels were stacked on one another and I was able to count 3 trades before I kept the tradition and added my label on top. Great idea. I will start that on my reused envelopes.

Normally I get a new one...you guys tape them up so (*)#@$ secure...I have to open them like Christmas Presents.   And I usually can't save my wrapping paper either. XD

I'll actually check for the hashes though!  If I get one that looks like it's being counted, I'll try my best to reuse it.

Use scissors to open them.  Just cut straight across on one end.  Doesn't matter if you end up shortening the envelope by a fraction of an inch, you'll be able to get the game out and have a reusable envelope.

OP:  I'm in.

I also reuse my envelopes and yes, the scissor trick works wonders. I shall try this out as well. Big Smile

Did Mother Nature ask for a lottery or something? Why do you hate her?

Sounds like a interesting idea. I'll play along.

I re-use almost every one, why use a new one each time?

Apparently, they have the reason for that.

Anyways, I will try to play this game if I remember. My question is though, do we mark it for how many times it has been sent out counting or not counting the time we're sending it?

Ex. I have a mailer that was already used so I'm sending it out again. Do I put one mark because it was used before me, or do I put 2 marks because the envelope has been used by someone else and by me? (OMG, that sounds really weird when I think about itIndifferent)
