Hi everyone, I've been buying used Xbox/GC games for some time now and only recently found Goozex, and I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on this.  I usually go to gamestop and other stores and the used gc games are almost always 1.5 - 2 times more expensive than similar xbox/ps2($5-12) games.  I've noticed this is true on amazon, etc. and now the same is true with goozex points.  Any ideas?  It's not a big deal, I was just curious.

PS.  As a new user of goozex, I'm quite happy with how it's worked so far.  It started out really slow and I wasn't sure if this would work, but it's done we good so far.  Seems like a good system even if it starts out pretty slow...

perhaps in the case of multiplatform games, fewer people bought them for gamecube than the other systems and its really just a case of supply and demand?

Pizza guys are getting worse and worse looking. I guess all the good ones went into porn.

I too think it's the rarity of finding a GC disk than others. You can usually find a 1:5 ratio of GC to Ps2 games at gamestop. Not only that, but good luck finding it in a case.I've had a hard time finding some of the games I wanted to save for my son since the GC is my choice starter system for him.

I believe that the popularity of the Wii would also have a lot to do with this.

That's true. More demand because people can play their GC games on their Wii (and actually wish to play them, unlike playing PS2/PSx games on a PS3) might make their worth go up slightly. Also, since the disc is smaller it's probably harder to make the games in the first place, since all of the other home consoles use either DVD/HDDVD/Blu-Ray (at least the ones offered on Goozex).

Interesting ideas.

I guess my question deals with new gc games as well as used ones, as you'll find that new games also cost more than new games for xbox/ps2.  But I'm a stingy bastard, so I always go for the used/bargain bucket....

As far as the low number of gc games available at the game stores, I always just figured, they never made nearly as many games for the gc as the others so they naturally wouldn't have as many after it died out.  I'm not sure what that does to the demand.  I figure the games had low demand when it was current  and low demand afterwards.  But it's an interesting theory.  I wonder if the gc is becoming or has become the system and games for collectors more than the xbox or ps2.  Do you think people are more interested in keeping and continuing to play the gc more than the others, even though it wasn't as popular during its lifetime?  Any thoughts?

Do you guys think a lot of people with wiis play gc games?  I know a lot of very casual wii gamers, and none of them play gc games.  I doubt they even know that it can be done, or would be interested if they knew.  They just want to play wii sports, mario kart, and wii fit...

I think it may be because the Wii has the best and most accessible backwards compatibility. That's my guess.

It's because of Wii's backwards compatability and ignorant parents will pay those prices.

Don't know if a lot of people with a Wii would play GC games since most people with a Wii are extremely casual gamers. Only the few hardcore gamers who happen to have a Wii are likely to play GC games on it. In fact, I just barely got Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker for the Gamecube to play on my Wii. I actually heard mainly bad things about this game (mainly for the cel-shading), but I've also heard many good things. I personally wanted to see what it was all about, and understand the background of what's happening in Phantom Hourglass (the sequel to it).

I actually think that people might find the GC games more useful now than during it's lifetime because of the Wii, but I doubt it's any higher than the PS2. Now, while I did state that most people probably won't play their PSX/PS2 games on their PS3, lots of people (including me) still have their PS2 and are extremely happy with it. I would think the Xbox games and system are probably the ones which are least likely to see the light of day. Of course, there's also the point someone made that parents might just want to spend less for games for their kids to play on the Wii.
