Sunday nights 9pm Eastern (6pm Pacific)

Greetings.

Here's your chance to show off your mad karting skillz against other goozex members and maybe win 200 Goozex points in the process. In order for points to be awarded, there will need to be a minimum of 8 people racing.

The race will start at 10 minutes after the hour. I will have a room available by the top of the hour for each event. If the room is full, Viewtifuldave will open a second room. I will also be in the chat room.

We will go for a total of 3 matches (of 4 races each; so 12 races total). Each match will start right after the previous one finishes.
Feel free to vote for a track you like, vote for a track someone else has voted for, or just go random!

For 1-7 racers:
We're racing for fun in one room, since MVP points and title will not be awarded for groups less than 8.

For 8-12 racers:
Highest overall score of all 12 races in one room wins MVP (and 200 goozex points).

For 13-15 racers:
Each room should have half the people and will race 2 matches (8 races total). The 6 people with the highest overall score from each room compete in a final match. Highest score for the third match (4 races) wins MVP (and 200 goozex points). If the racer quantity in the 2 rooms are unbalanced (3 or more racers), only the top half of the smaller room will advance to the finals (so the finals will have a total of 12 racers).

For 16-24 racers:
Each room should have half the people and will race 3 matches (12 races total). Highest overall score per room wins MVP (and 200 goozex points each). Each room must have at least 8 people in order for points to be awarded.

If you and another Goozex member plan on racing in 2P mode, you must ensure it is clear with me who is who before the race. You should also make sure that both friend codes are registered, in case the 2P person makes it to the finals and the first player does not (for multiple rooms).

To receive weekly reminders prior to the event, make sure you have Mario Kart listed under your "Playing Now" list.

Winners that qualify for the 200 point award also appear on the MVP Winners! list. I will also have the results for each event posted in this thread within an hour of the event end time.

Keep in mind when adding friend codes that the screen name that appears on the Wii is the Mii name, and is not necessarily the same name you see below. To avoid confusion, you can change your Mii name to your goozex screen name, or state your Mii name and I'll update the list below.

While you only need to add somewan and Viewtifuldave's friend codes to connect for the MVP event, adding everyone's codes allows you to connect with other Goozex members outside of these tournaments.

I won't be able to be in tomorrow. I'm really looking for a good race with more than 8 peoples.

Yes. They went out yesterday, just in case people don't check their emails over the weekend. Already got a response (from DarkKnight, who is now added) so hopefully more will be coming and this can be an award-giving event.

And echoing viewtifuldave's sentiment, it will be cool to race with at least 8 people. We had a lot of fun during the goozlympics with the higher number of people.

Speaking of invite to play, darkneji, you're the only one on the list above who isn't on the "Playing Now" list... Embarrassed

hehe.........Yeah well about that..........I'm not really playing this game. I just play it when my friends come over and when we do somethin online. I think the Playing now list is for stuff that I'm playing now.

im unfamilar how online works for the wii. so can you tell what i need to do to get set up for the mvp? where do i look for my code and such? Whisper

In the Kart game, after you select your license the lower right box is "Nintendo WFC". Once you have connected online, the game will generate a friend code for you (this is different than the wii code, or other codes for online games such as Brawl). In order for 2 people to connect, they both need to have each other's friend code. So your initial steps should be:

Connect to Nintendo WFC to get your Kart friend code
Post your friend code here
Add everyone else's code to your game (you only add the numbers, not the names)

You can add friends under the WFC menu. It will take a while to match friends intially if they both are not online at the same time, so the sooner you can get this done, the better.

Once friends are registered, whenever they are online, a smilie face appears and tells you what they are doing (worldwide race, opening a room, racing a friend, competing in a tournament, etc...) For the MVP event, I will have a room open and you would just select "Join a friend" (or something like that).

Please feel free to ask for any clarifications, since I typed this off the top of my head and didn't walk through the game itself. I will have more time to do this later today.
