To me, I think it defeats the purpose of this trading system for people to be doing that.  Why did you get the game in the first place?  You haven't even played it, maybe if you start playing it, you would like it and not want to trade it away.  The normal routine would be you playing the game, beating the game, not having anything else you can do with the game you then decide to trade it away to someone who hasn't played it yet.  I know, I've done it myself, sending a game brand new (motorstorm) and some games practically new because they suck, but it makes me kinda wonder.  Are people buying factory sealed games at a bargain and trading them away on Goozex to maximize their value?  Especially if theyre games that are not new at all because they couldnt have been sitting on the shelf for a long time not having been opened.  Kinda makes you wonder how these people got these games.  Like on someone's profile, I could see he had traded away the same titles multiple times.  If you're the guy requesting the game, of course it would be nice if the game would arrive new and sealed, and then a tip would be given and then everyone's happy, but that tip's not a gaurantee especially from me.  People who trade away sealed games only to try to appease the requester and hope for a tip should not be doing that because if no tip is given then sucks for you, you haven't even played it and you traded it away brand spanking new, that "bonus" for that game all for naught.  You might as well have tried out the game first before trading it away right?  For me, a game can come not factory sealed, but the disc in excellent condition and I could still give the tip depending on several other factors.

sometimes an older relative gives you a new game as a gift and not wanting to hurt their feelings you smile and say thanks even if its a game you have already played or have zero desire to play. why not give a fellow goozexer a brand new game rather then hurting granny's feelings by asking for the receipt in order to exchange it? i still have that brand new sealed copy of gundam crossfire if anybody wants it. i know the game sucks but you would be giving me the points for sparing my moms feelings. kinda like the dude who shipped me the new/sealed copy of sonic for ps3. i got a lousy game but at least my points went to help him spare his moms feelings. does that answer the question? and yes i did tip him. i tip almost everybody.

Situations such as comicgeek77 stated does occur. Also there are times when you end up picking up some games that were cleranced or extremely cheap. Then they just end up sitting on the shelf or in a box or on the floor somewhere for a long period of time. Maybe your desire to play the game has dropped to a percentage where it is just not worth the effort of opening the game. At least that has happened in my situation :)

Because you know that you won't get around to it...and it is better to get some current Goozex point value for it, and then pick it up again at a later time at an inevitably lower Goozex point value.

Another thing to consider is that sometimes a game goes on Sale, has a price reduction, or is offered through a rewards program or business training. For the last example, Microsoft will give out games to retail employees who complete their online "product knowledge" training courses. These games are usually specific titles that the trainee may already own, and often find their way into the Goozex system as sealed copies.

I know from experience that it is very hard to consider why someone would trade/sell a new copy of a game when you are a person who has never done anything but purchased a game from a store. It's really eye opening when you realize that there are so many other ways and reasons that people acquire games.

Not to long ago I bought a copy of Folklore of the PS3 brand new at Target for $24.99 and traded it on Goozex for 900 points. Im always on the lookout for these kinds of deals.

Some of us get games through the retail training sites and trade them away sealed too.

I go and look around for games that are on Sale or Clearence and I know that it will fetch alot on here and trade it away sealed even if I wanted to play it.

I once won a consolation prize in a contest. The prize was a game. My husband also won the same prize. we were then entitled to 2 copies of the game

Then my prize didn't show up in the mail so I called the company and they resent the item. I guess my copy of the game was just delayed because the first one came about two weeks later an a second one showed up about 6 weeks after that. we then had 3 copies of the same game. This was before I knew about goozex so I gave them away to friends that I knew would like the game. still sealed up and everything. So people really do have sealed games to give away.

This is exactly what I do on here. If I know I'm making a nice profit for points on here, I'll send it sealed, and if I don't get a tip, I don't mind.  I already got my money's worth.  A tip to me is just an added bonus, and I don't ever truly expect it.  I tip most of the time for sealed games, unless i've overpaid already for it.

I used to work for fairly large 3rd party video game publisher, so occasionally I would get free copies of games in a swag bag at parties, or I would get a free copy (or two) of a game I was working on. Also, all of the publisher's games were available to us at cost ($6-$12).  So there is a good excuse to pick up some games that I may or may not have time to play.

Also, I know that there is a great community within our Goozex trading community...of folks who work within the gaming industry. And as has been stated in the posts previous, many within the industry can get games easily, at a discount, or even gratis.

I enter a lot of contests where a game is a lower prize & win at least a couple games a year.I don't even have the console for some of them & I used to sell them, but that's sometimes not worth the effort to run an ad.I traded sealed games here & it had nothing to do with expecting a tip.

Circuit City is a great place to get clearanced  games.  Last month I picked up Odin Sphere for $12, Red Steel for $12 can Condemned for $15

All those games sell for a  higher value here. Odin Sphere in particular sells for 800 points. Bought it planning to sell it here, but I fell in love with it.

old thread but needed to vent.

I get ticked when I send out a sealed game (bioshock) and I didn't even get a polite comment. I was expecting a tip actually but at least a comment! I left tracking and a nice note that it's sealed a coming their way.

people, comments of being thankful would be nice
