I recieved a game today and the disc was all loosey goosey in the case. I played it for about 20 minutes when it started having trouble reading and eventually stopped working. I played again to the same point, and it made it past, but it stopped not much longer than that. I'm sure it was damaged during shipping, but I don't know what to do.

Also, I'm afraid of this happening to me (as a sender). I sent a game to somebody else who said there were scratched on the disc but said it played fine. Is there something I can put in the case with game to keep it in place without damaging the game or causing the weight/shipping to go up much?

I’ve see people put napkins in the case with the game to prevent the disc from popping off the spindle. I just fold the message portion of the shipping label and place it in the case. I don’t think two layers of paper would prevent much, but it makes me feel better. With games that come in a jewel case not the DVD sized case I tape the case shut.

I’m not sure what else can be done, if the USPS is going to miss handle the game during shipping, or one of their sorters is going to eat your package there really isn’t much else you can do.

One of the games I just received had a piece of bubble-wrap folded up in the case, which doesn't weigh much of anything but should keep the disc in place.

In terms of your damaged game, you should definitely PM the sender and see what they have to say about the situation. It's kind of up to you how generous you want to be - if there's still time you might be able to send the game back to the seller and then have them cancel the trade when it arrives. If you're already near the end of the 21 days though (or the seller never replies), your only choice would be a negative.

Ive put a small piece of electrical tape in the center hold the disc in place, electrical tape tends to remove cleanly.

What about damage during shipment to the overall case/packaging of the game?  I just got a LE version of the game that came with a tin case and plastic sleeve cover and the tin case had a dent in it and the plastic outer sleeve was cracked due to it partially sliding off the tin case and bending during shipment.  It was just shipped in a standard bubble mailer and didn't have anything wrapped around the case/sleeve to prevent it from moving during shipment.

If I ship something like this myself I usually wrap the case/sleeve in bubble wrap 1st to avoid the sleeve slipping off and hopefully avoid any dents to the case.

What type of feedback should I leave for this?

I would leave a +5 (The game I requested plays great but the overall packaging is not what I was expecting.)

As for me, I tend to tape the disk(s) down with 2 pices of scotch tape one on each side to keep the disk in place.

or  you could go to a medical supply store and buy paper tape to do the same

paper tape has no residue
