I have decided to write this thread as a note to new goozex users. There is a common misconception that you will be waiting long periods of time in order to get newly released games, my use of Goozex has show this is not true. You may have noticed the little counter of "turns" next to your game request. This counter rarely represents how many people want and can buy the game who are in front of you in line. Therefore, you will often recieve a game even though you are high up in the line (i.e. I recieved a game at spot 40 in line).

Just to show how quickly I have recieved games I would like to list a few 360 games I have recieved from Goozex users and how quickly I got them after release.

Game                                Release Date              Date Mailed to me      Length of Wait

Medal of Honor: Airbone      Sept. 4                      Oct. 29                      1 month 25 days

Stranglehold                      Sept. 5                        Nov. 14                     2 months 9 days

Blacksite: Area 51              Nov. 12                       Dec. 19                     1 month 7 days

Mass Effect                        Nov. 20                      Jan. 19                      1 month 30 days

Burnout Paradise                Jan. 22                      March 7                     1 month 14 days

Army of Two                       March 4                     March 20                   16 days

Condemned 2: Bloodshot     March 12                   April 8                        27 days

The average wait is about a month and a half. Be prepared to wait atleast 3 for a new game. If you think a month and a half is to long of a wait for a newly released game then Goozex may not be the place for you. What I can tell you is that Goozex has saved me $420 on new release games since Sept. of last year. If you have a limited budget and want to get your hands on new games Goozex is the place to be.

I would also like to point out that the length of wait is highly dependent on the game. Popular games and games with extensive multiplayer content (i.e. COD4) are likely going to take longer to get. The key to getting games fast is being diligent about adding the games to your request list soon after release, the longer you wait the longer the line will be.

That's a great idea Seb.  One thing to mention to is the platform you are requesting on.  It's been my experience that I get games for the 360 faster than any other console.  I'm guessing this is because a lot of Goozers have 360's.

This should be required reading for new members.  If someone starts a thread with the words long wait in the title, this should pop up instead of starting a new one.  I can't believe how many new threads are started daily to ask questions that have already been answered numerous times.  If people would be a little more aware, they would be able to get their answers much quicker.

I'm definitely including this link in all my generic copypasta replies to people asking how turns work

On topic: I'm not big on trading new games, but my contribution:

Super Mario Galaxy
Release Date: Novemeber 12, 2007
Received From Goozex: November 21, 2007
Length of Wait: 9 days

Moral of the story, if you keeping hitting "refresh" around midnight CST, you can be first in line sometimes!

Seb, good work...but I think that your lists are still a bit deceptive.  I've gotten games, even some of the games that you list on an average of two weeks outside of release.  That's been my experience.  And I don't even stay up late to get ahead in the queue.  I think that my biggest advantage is that I keep a high point balance.

This is simply my experience Lurk. I am sure there are many cases when people have gotten games even quicker then this, I was just trying to show that new games taking forever to move is a myth. If someone wants to sticky this thread I think its a good read for new members.

How can a list of his exact trading statistics be deceptive? O_o

I completely concur with the high point balance.  I've jumped over many, many dozens of people who apparently didn't have the necessary points for a requested game.  I was shocked to get some games (Heavenly Sword, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Ratchet & Clank Future all for the PS3) that I was the 60th or so in line and found myself being matched very quickly.

Correction: I apologize for my poor choice of word(s).  Again, much thanks to Seb for his good and exacting work.  His calculations are obviously accurate and are a good generalization of the "release" of new release games here in the Goozex trading universe.  I guess that I was trying to add that these release times may not be precisely indicative of what you can come to expect as a user.  Games, for me, have come consistently quicker...while others have reported games coming a few weeks after Seb's experience.  Again, this thread hits the happy median of a Goozexer's reasonable expectation.

It all depends on how willing you are to part with your games. My library might not look like much to a lot of you, but for me. I've never even so much as sold my games to gamestop before. So having that many games I'm willing to part with surprised me even though it's not that much. I guess the thing is I don't do blind buys, I deeply research games before buying them, so I am deeply in love with most of my games. I won't be able to keep my points total at a constant high.

I seem to keep my points between 6500 and 10,000 points. But I never get a lot of new releases, as if I want a release badly enough, I go out and buy it.  I mostly get rare games, cheap games I wouldnt mind trying out, or surprisingly enough import games I've gotten off goozex in recent months.  I did get Bully and Frontlines pretty quickly, and both games were blah and immediately went back out. But I like that someone is taking their time out to show new users that you can get games in a secent amount of time.  Also, I got Uncharted and UTIII after 2 months each and I was in a long wait (70th by the time I received the game) for Uncharted and 50th for UTIII.

Yet even more proof has come today.

Rainbow Six Vegas 2

Released - March 18th

Ship Date- April 25th

Less then a month and I am already recieving a game that I was 70th in line for. Turns really hold little value in recieving games.

That's really strange... I'm 56th in line with enough points.
