 Hello, everyone.

I'm rather new here, joining on the 1st of the month.  (April Fool's, indeed.)

My first requested game is incoming, though I've gone through a long string of other requests whose sellers never confirmed the trade.  I understand that they are given a window of 24+ hours to confirm before being automatically canceled, though I'm more interested in those who nullify the trade before that window has expired.

I can understand if you suddenly misplaced the game or something, but I wouldn't think my luck is that bad to be paired with so many irresponsible traders in a row.  What other reasons do sellers have for refusing to trade?  Is it because I'm a new user, and they don't trust me?

 Thank you for any input.

There are a few things that you might be seeing. Firstly, there are a lot of new users with the recent marketing push in EGM and such. Some of them may be listing games and don't fully understand the system yet, and that they can put games on hold without losing their place in line. This is a common thing that happens alot when we have a big group of new users in the system.

It's also possible that you're being hit with "NewUserItis," which is a common disease that causes people to decline trades with new Goozexers like yourself. I think that as you get some feedback from sending games out, you'll see a decline in the number of users that do not accept trades with you.

There is also the possibility that people either forget to check their email, or see the trade and decide to accept it later and then forget to come back and do it.

There are many, many honest traders here who accept trades asap and send out the games promptly. The Goozex team is very good at weeding out the bad eggs.

Beyond that, welcome to Goozex!

Just to add to what Tainted said, Staff have now (or very soon) implimented some procedures to remove inactive traders from the active trading queue, which is quite possibly what you are encountering.  People who signed up, listed their games and then disappeared.  They are aware of the problem and are in the process of cleaning things up.

Also, welcome to Goozex.

Just so you are aware, there are threads in the forums where you can post your PSN ID's, Wii Codes and XBL gamertags.

Tainted and PSWii Elite 360 organize gaming nights for the PS3 and 360.  If you are interested in either, there are threads in the forums that discuss what this week's game will be.  And if you have COD4 (for the 360) and the new map packs, you could win Goozex points, look for Friday Night MVP.

Thank you both for your explanations.

While I'd certainly love to participate in your gaming nights, I don't have regular access to my current-gen consoles during the school year due to the lack of a television at my apartment.  I also tend to shy away from first-person shooters since, to complement my "Newuseritis Syndrome, I also have "Unabletocontrolanfpswithagamepadduetostupidfingers Syndrome".

But if my situation changes, I'll be in that thread faster than chicken in soup.

Thanks!

Is that contagious?  Do I need some sort of booster shot now?  Can I blame you any time I get beat up in a FPS now?

 And welcome to Goozex!

One other reason is that, and this is a personal one, but sometimes I don't think that I'll be able to get to a Post Office in 3 days...or have the time to package up the game to drop in my mailbox within that time.  With all of life's commitments and the general busy-ness of work, there are some weeks where packaging up a video game (even though I admit that it doesn't take that much time)...is a chore that sometimes doesn't fit into my immediate schedule.

In fact, I would prefer the options to be changed to sending out in 1 or 3 days to be changed to 2 and 4 days.  Most folks could care less about a day or two, but I guess I am bit of a stickler to the specifics....it is just that proverbial stick in my arse, I guess.

I have noticed a ton of new users. I think about 10 of my last 15 games sent off were to new users. It's nice to see so many people using this site. The only problem I've been having with new users it that they often don't leave feedback without an email or two to remind them. It's really not a big deal, but it's nice to know if the game works and all. So just remember to leave feedback and I think you'll be fine.

It is unfortunate that folks decline sending games to new users.  With delivery confirmation, the Goozex garuntee, and worse case scenario being a 21-day automatic positive feedback, there's really nothing to be worried about - but I don't know, maybe my opinion there is in the minority *shrug*

Is that what it's called?  I've been suffering from that since I got my 360...hopefully it doesn't become fatal.

No, no, and no. You all suffer from Noobacitis. Its common among new console players. The key is to diversify your gaming between more then one system on a regular basis so that you become proficient in all forms of gaming.

Oh, it's as fatal as they come.  I've died many times to it.

Wait...
