Hey, I'm new here. I've done a few trades and it's all gone very well (old PS2/Dreamcast games that would net pennies at EBstop for one new-ish 360 game? hell yes!) but I've got a question about the "full package" setting. Let's say I've got a game with the original disc, manual, etc, but I've since put the game in a replacement case instead of the original plastic (you all know how fragile jewel cases are). Does this still count as "full package", or should I mark it "disc and manual"?
Jewel cases are universal. Just put it in another jewel case before sending it out. GC, PS2/PS3, XBOX/XBOX 360 are not universal. Make sure you have the originals for full package.
Don't try to replace a PS2 game case with a DVD game case, anyone paying attention would notice the missing memory card holder. In that case they might put it down as a neutral. I'd suggest disc and manual unless you replaced the Case with a case from the same system. Xbox cases are green, GC cases are a little more compact with the small disc holder, etc.
Well, the main thing is that when I was shelving my Dreamcast games, I repackaged many of them into DVD cases with specially printed inserts instead of the shitty jewel cases they came in originally. They were just standard clear jewel cases, though, and I saved all the paper inserts, so I should be able to ship as full package if I reassemble the old jewel cases. Maybe I'll ship 'em the specially printed DVD case as an added bonus, too; I'm proud of how they came out.
Another question on full package: let's say the game came in a DVD case and came with an accessory and then a cardboard box around the lot of it. You know, like Wii Play, or Guitar Hero. If you have the game, game case, accessory, etc. etc. but don't have the cardboard box, does "full package" work or not? I know for most games with accessories anything less than "full package" means "doesn't have the accessory", so all the requests are for "full package".
In re: to your first question and perhaps your second also, is that "full package" is exactly as the item was sold at retail but without the factory sealed plastic. No matter how great your custom cover art is or what exclusive bundles that you have created for the game, the original cover artwork is a must. Again, as sold at retail.
The cardboard box is one of those items that is on the grey line, if you ask me. I would say that the cardboard cases are a must to label something as full package, under the guidelines listed previously. But a great many people would have no expectation of the cardboard box so long as the bundled accesories have been included. I personally wouldn't list it is full package, but if you do so...upon a match, I would immediately send a PM giving full disclosure of what is being sent.

Lurk is correct, if you are unsure, send a PM and ask. Though I always aim low with my listings. If a case is cracked or something I list it as disc+manual and then send the case anyway.

silentshawn:I'm thread jacking a bit, but did you already finish Wizard and glass? I saw you've been reading the Dark Tower series. I just finished Song of Susannah. How do you like the series so far?
Yeah, that was a re-read. I've been reading them since before Wolves came out, and I've had them all read since the last one came out in 04. They are good times, though I kind of lost interest in Wizard since I had recently finished the comic series which is basically that whole flashback but in less detail. Then I remembered I had the sequel to Amber Wizard sitting on my shelf unread, then I realized I hadn't read Amber Wizard in like a year. So now I have to read Amber Wizard then Words of Making, and then probably get back into the Dark Tower with Wolves of the Calla.
Also, if you have never read the last Dark Tower book, it is great. My second favorite next to Drawing.
I’ve enjoyed the series so far, but it took me about a year to make it through Song of Susannah, and I’ll be picking up the Dark Tower as soon as I make it too a book store. You say there are spinoff stories? These I must read too. So far I think my favorites have been Drawing and Wolves, I can’t wait to see how it all ends, but no spoilers.

There is a 7 issue comic book series that is basically the flashback from Wizard and Glass that they released as a hardcover graphic novel. It's pretty good. If you want to get technical, a great number of other Stephen King books are spin-offs. Eyes of the Dragon, The Stand, Salem's Lot, and a few others being the big ones.
I think I miss read your other post about the Amber Wizard, I though it was a spin-off to the Tower series. I know Salem’s lot was a big part of Callahan’s story, and the Crimson King’s henchmen, I’ve seen the two movies based on it, but I’ll have to read the Stand and Eyes of the Dragon.
Yeah, The Amber Wizard is another book from another author. Pretty good though. I'm still waiting for the third book of the Instrumentalities of the night series by Glen Cook to come out. Too many books, my girlfriend and I have shelves of books going across the living room. Plus shelves of movies and games and such.
I have too many shelves.....
I did it with PS games all the time, you can't even tell the difference. As far as 360 games go, not to sure I'd want to send out a game in a (black) dvd case... Or recieve one like that... Catch my drift?
I know I always expect the original cardboard box the game came in. Otherwise it's not a full package. Full package is how the game is sold at retail, and the Box is retail, so the box has to be with it
Chances are...if you ever hesitate or have a single doubt whether or not something is full package, then you probably already know your answer.
It is as has been sold at retail. However, common sense does prevail...let's take for instance DS games. Nintendo throws in a little sheet of propoganda about Nintendo Power, things like that aren't necessary...
