Don't worry ... there will be a 'complementary' list ;)
Here are mine:
- Puzzle Quest (RPG & Puzzle)
- Syphon Filter (FPS)
- Loco Roco (bouncy singy genre)
- LEGO Star Wars II (action) - if not for the load times I would call this the best version available.
- Chili Con Carnage / Infected - yeah, I cheated ;) But these are similar games that are imperfect but a complete blast!

I only own two games for my PSP:
Hopefully, that will change soon. Lost of good-looking RPGs coming our way, in the near future.

What is on that list for you?
I'm really looking forward to D&D Tactics, but it keeps getting delayed, the load times are supposedly horrific and the features keep getting cut.
Also Dungeon Maker, but that also looks like it could out-and-out suck.
I was also looking forward to Silverfall, but this quote from a Dev Diary troubled me: "The companion system, the vast open levels, and the specific look and feel of the game (using outlines on characters for a kind of cell shading effect) round out what makes Silverfall PC unique. These three features were the most problematic for us. Each of them is very resource demanding."
I've recently played Valhalls Knights (crap) and Aedis Eclipse: Generation of Chaos (more of a strategy game, decent, better than the first)

D&D Tactics does look decent. I'm also looking forward to Disgaea Portable and the Final Fantasy Tactics remake.
Yeah - the FFTA remake looks pretty nice. I have to admit to finding the price model for the Final Fantasy I & II remakes annoying - 2x as much as the GBA version with the same content ... only prettier.
Are you accusing Square Enix of rehashing the same old sh*t to make profit? How dare you.

Hehe... they are making it awfully challenging for me to collect all the FF games.
That I don't mind so much ... those are cool games. I am not a console guy so the GBA versions were my first whack at them (and the other FF games), so if they were reasonably priced I'd have bought the PSP versions as well. They do look good.
Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror
Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters
Killzone: Liberation
Me & My Katamari
tough call for a 5th at the moment.

I hope it is better than I have heard ...

Because of the enthusiasm in this thread/forums for all things PSP, I went ahead and finally upgraded my dust-ridden PSP from its 1.5 FW roots and bought Loco Roco. Hooray. Thanks for the recommendation, and I want to hear more from you all.

It is not out for another week or so but I am in the midst of Brave Story: New Traveler and really enjoying it. After playing Final Fantasy I didn't think that I'd be up for more random battles (I can only handle so many before getting back to my 'western' RPG roots'), but between the story, the characters, the battle system, item creation and so on this is a real unexpected gem.
