Hi there,
I would like to know how many users (more or less) are using this service. Also, before I start sending games to American gamers, I need to make sure that most of them do cough up the extra couple of bucks and do ship to Canada. I would hate to be limited in trades because of this.
Thank you
I'm not sure of the total number of users, but I have completed trades with Canadians from the US. I've received and sent games across the border without any problems, and I don't recall there being much difference in first class shipping prices.
I wouldn't hesitate at all to complete an international trade.
I trade with Canadians. As a matter of fact, I sent two games to Canada a couple of weeks ago.

Well that's good to know. Thank you
I'll most likely turn on the option. Shipping isn't bad and just having more people to send/receive to is always a plus.
I have recieved games from Canada and believe I've shipped 1 or 2 there through Goozex. The cost difference isn't much at all unless what your mailing is pretty heavy. The biggest benefit of course is having a wider selection and having more people seeing the game in your "My Library" page and you'll be more likely to get trades.

I ship to Canada. In some cases, it's cheaper than shipping within the US, hahah.
You guys talked me into it. I turned on my Canada option. Pretty useful thread, hope some others turn it on to help out our friends up north.
I ship to Canada...and to be frank, it's really not that big of a deal in terms of shipping expenses or risk. I feel bad that you all have to pay Canadian customs dues. I know, I know, gift under $15...but still.

Actually, this is how you avoid customs duties:
1- Use Air Mail, avoid ground mail (UPS). Air does not stop at the boarders, therefore, no custom duties in most cases.
2- The flatter, the better. If the envelop is too thick, it won't pass as a letter and will be considered a package. Letters cannot be held for custom fees.
3- Writing "Gift" on the envelop helps a lot.
4- If it gets counted as a package and not a letter, the total must be under $25 CAD, so avoid declaring the shipping cost in the value.

One thing about Canada, they need to extend the feedback time for orders to Canada <--> US. Shipping to Canada typically takes about 2 weeks. Sometimes there are delays. I've had one trader send some games and the feedback time required expired and goozex left auto feedback. Luckly he was an honest trader and the games arrived just 1 day later. I don't think this would be hard to implement

Thanks Importer - that's good information! I'll store it away for my next Goozex that goes north.
Definitely some great ideas here to help ease trading with Canada!
