BillsNG:

RockMuncher:

Looks like something happened to the user sometime after August 19th. That was the last game they gave feedback for in their received games. A couple system closes after than then nothing.

I really doubt this is a scam... it looks like the user just vanished entirely. Their history supports the games they sent out (not all monster point games or incredibly popular ones) and they have a history of sending out a massive number of trades in a limited window.

If something happened to them around the 20th, the timing would be just about right for all these games they committed to shipping to come in as negatives now. I am a lot more concerned about the sender's health than worried that it's a scam. : /

I wonder the same thing.  Probably something bad happened to the seller.

Well it looks like the user made a forum post on 8/27/10 and since that is only 2 days before he received the first in that string of negatives, I would believe that they never actually planned to send out any of those games.

None of this makes sense to me. He did post on the 27th but his post was well thought out and intended to help the Goozex community. Why would he post this while simultaneously trying to pull some huge scam?

ETA: Although, this is the SAME user who tried to offer "disc repair" not too long ago. Knew his username was familiar.

I was just going to mention that.  If he is scamming (I know, he may not be - get well soon!), there is an incredible level of irony, a jacob's ladder of hilarity.  Wasn't it like 4 dollars per game or something?

I received two games from him - one was ok, and the other was scratched up but repairable (another irony with his proposed service).  If memory serves, the return address was some sort of car place.  Maybe he got swept up in the busy august/september rush?

Hmm.. if he replied in the forums Confused

I have no idea what he's doing. O_o

Nothing he does really fits into either idea. Colour me baffled.

He's up to 25 now. I just don't know about him actually scamming though as one user did mention that he used DC on two games that were coming to him. They just never updated.

A lot of his trades that were incoming around the last month were all auto systemed to him too.  So it looks to me like the person had something happen to them, considering the system feedback, plus nothing really after it.  You'd think a scammer would go on a spending spree with points.  Plus as it was just said, DC on some packages, just never got updated.

I got caught up in this and I have never had to give a negative before.  At the end when I had no choice but to put in a negative he had gone from 0 to 6 in 2 days so I sent my negative in.

At this point the negative has cleared, does Goozex refund the points and token that were spent to request the item?

trackercowe:

I feel bad for the guys who left positive feedback during those ten days or so. Obviously since the system closed the transaction they probably did not receive their games, and just didn't have time, to file the dispute.

I don't feel sorry for them. It's their own fault for not informing themselves of how the site works before using it.

I really doesn't make much sense. If he wasn't planning on sending these games, then why not do it with high point new release games. It looks like the majority of these games are 100 point games. He's only amassed around 4000 points and 26 negatives.

Both possible, or worse.

It makes you wonder how many times these sorts of things have occurred here; it isn't like anyone would ever find out.  I doubt a person's estate would look to deeply into his investigating his online trading habits.

Well he has been disabled.  For all those saying he isnt a scammer, he had traded a decent amount of games out before this however one day he accepted trades for 20+ games.  The odds that he would get matched to send out 20+ games one day with his trading history are slim to none.  The guy was probably just pissed off we didnt like his crappy money making idea so he figured he would scam some people.  From that thread it was easy to tell he wasnt the sharpest knife in the drawer which would explain why he wasnt the smartest scammer and didnt go about it the typical way.
