A shame that people think they should be able to get away with sueing a game company because they lack the ability to sort their responsibilities properly. Some blame goes to the parents too, who should have kicked that slob out of their basement already.

Haha people are idiots. If you get addicted to something it is your responsibility to get help. I hope this idiot spends thousands on a lawsuit and ends up getting counter sued and loses.
I don't buy it. Maybe if he said I got addicted to WoW, or EQ, or FFXI, etc, etc... but Lineage II? I call shenanigans.

i feel like there was a fridge next to him stocked with mountain dew code red and hot pockets, to the other side was the microwave; i couldn't possibly see this person getting up at all so he would just sit there stewing in his own urine and ***
Reading the article and comments, apparently the guy spend 9 hours a day for 5 years playing the game. He got banned for "trying to make real money transfers". Then proceeds to freak out, and sues. So if someone is playing 9 hours a day, making money transfers, the guy was gold farming. Now he is pissed and rage sues. If he wins this, this will just open doors for more idiots in MMOs.
That's the same principle of the "fat guy" who goes out and sues McDonalds because he got fat after eating the restaurants food every day.

And he won.
Never been too interested with MMOs but I'm really excited for Star Wars: The Old Republic.
Hope it doesn't take over my life. Guess we'll find out in a year.

Just like the girl with the hot coffee. And I don't mean GTA San Andreas.
As I recall, a judge dismissed the 'obesity law suit' against McDonald's when the plaintiffs failed to prove that McDonald's intended for it's customers to eat every meal every day there.
Maybe there's been another one in which the fat guy won? I don't recall it, though, and a google search can't find it.

Nope - the suit was tossed.
The coffee wasn't a 'I don't take responsibility' but rather a 'the liquid was heated far in excess of safety standards' and therefore negligence.
...
This MMO suit, though? Pure crap.

So this guy averaged 9.12 hours per day on Lineage II.. Adding up the hours for sleep and work, he really had no other time for anything else.. Scary
