This is going be irrelevant to most of you, but I thought I'd share this here. Last week I placed an order on Sony's Retail Loyalty Site. I wanted to use up the last of my points before I was done working at Gamestop and went off to school. So I ordered Killzone 2, Resistance 2, LBP: GOTY, GoW Collection and MLB 10. I paid my 12000 points and $50. I received a confirmation email that I would be receiving and copy of each game and that I would be charged $50 and that was that.

Today, I head over to my school mailbox to pick up a textbook I ordered off of ebay. When I open up my mailbox, I find that I have pickup slips for not one, but two packages! Surprised, I try to remember what else I had on the way. My girlfriend reminds me that it's probably my games from Sony. So I get back to my dorm room and what do I find? That they sent me 4 copies of each game instead of 1. The invoice that they included said that I ordered 4 copies each and I was charged $200 rather than $50. The way that site works doesn't allow you to order multiple copies of the same item like that. So I'm a little confused as to what is going on here, especially since I cannot find a single charge on any of the cards that I might have used for the purchase.

TLDR; Sony messed something up with my order, and they will be getting a very puzzled email from me shortly.

Don't complain. You paid $10 for those games and they're probably worth a lot more than that (assuming they'e newish releases). flip the extra's on Goozex or sell some on Craig's List or Ebay.

i found sony's rls site to be a mess and never really used it. i have gotten free copies of office and Halo:ODST from microsoft's expertzone.

i'm pretty sure mafafu also uses the loyalty sites so he may know what is going on.

Microsoft's site is alright, but it's so damn slow.

Edit: Nevermind, They must have fixed in the months since I last did it cause it's pretty damn fast now. Cheap points cards and Alan Wake here I come.

I now know that they only charged me $50, so I'll appease my conscience and email them to see if they want to provide me with label to return the extras. If not, I'll be having a flipping frenzy. I'm not really complaining, I'm just amazed that the order actually went through without someone noticing.

I did get a 4000 point card off of Microsoft's website for $35 though. I wish that I had more time to use it so I could've gotten it for $25 though. Oh well, if I ever work at Gamestop again or another participating retailer I'll be sure to use it more.

Strongly recommend not having a flipping frenzy until you find out more information.  It's not just your conscience at stake, but your wallet too.

If you keep the extra games, you might have to pay for them once Sony corrects the issue.  If you choose not to, you might need to return the product... so keeping them nearby until this gets sorted out is a good idea.  (Hopefully nothing will happen and you'll just end up with some free games - but unless you have the cash to cover replacements it's better to know the result before acting.)

I emailed them the night I got everything just to be sure. They sent me a returns label to send the extras back. I'm going to get some bonus points for doing so, so I'll just get Heavy Rain and maybe an extra copy of Modnation Racers to flip on here.
