This has been a problem because people usually use the codes included with the game. Goozex has the option of trading said version vs. the plain version (no dlc). For example GOW2, which included the extra maps and mission, was offered at a higher price point but when it was time to trade, the person said that they had already used the code.

If the game is being offered two times, the first as the plain version (gears 2) and the second with dlc (gears 2 goty), it should be required to include the dlc code used if that is the version being offered. If the code has already been used then they should offer it as the normal version even if it was intially the goty version.

I'm posting this because Battlefield 2 ultimate was released today.I'm expecting this to be a problem as some might want to get the full price even though the code was used. The original release is still at 1000 points, so this shouldn't be a problem as  the seller will still get the same amount of points.

P.S. Games like ME2 or Alan Wake should be optional as those codes are for NEW games. Using goozex, mplies that you are trading a game that was previously used.

Goozex's rules state DLC codes are never required.

IMO, that is the way to go as this is a used games site. You don't get the codes from gamestop used usually.

EDIT: direct quote from the shipping page of the FAQ:

Goozex:
Downloadable content (DLC): When trading an item that contains DLC at the time of original purchase, it is expected that the DLC has expired at the time of trading. Users shall not expect unused access codes when trading on Goozex.

The new box will feature 'Limited Edition Unlocks & VIP Downloads', plus post-release content such as the map packs and Onslaught Mode.

Here are the contents:

  • BFBC2 Limited Edition base game - with early access to 6 in-game unlocks
  • Battlefield 1943 - BFBC2UE includes download token for this best-selling downloadable WWII game, never before available in retail
  • Onslaught mode - Experience 4-player co-op in the all-new Onslaught mode expansion, which released in June on XBL and PSN
  • VIP code - allowing for download of all VIP map packs released, 12 in total as of next week's release of map pack 6

Check out our review of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 to see if this is worth your hard earned cash.

My stance is, since DLC is never required for a trade, don't get used on titles that you want the dlc codes for.

If someone orders a used game just for the one time use dlc only for the original owner, they're a fool.

My Stance is wide. Think roguish swarthy pirate and that's me.

Goozex is very clear on DLC. It is not required for trade. It is assumed redeemed. Consequently 'SE' releases or standard releases that contain DLC are not so special on the used game market.

I have spent most of my money on women and beer. The rest I just wasted....

Speaking of fools hoping to get something else............i requested a arcade game I didn't want hoping to get microsoft points to buy something else. Instead i got the game download code and the guy threw in a free dlc code. I was disappointed but it was my own risk so i left positive and tipped. Then i loaded up the game. Lucky for me i loved it! IIt's toy soldiers.

Good thing you liked the game.  You narrowly avoided a foppish hat on that one. Wink
